New Year in carcassone

Recommended Posts

Hi there, we are new here too but for new years we have invited by our new french friends (who don't speak any english) to a very french new years party and it should be a blast as we have found them all fun, charming and friendly. We do live in the Dordogne but if you find nothing that takes your fancy down there, you are more than welcome to join us up here (and our french friends of course). We have lots of room too.

Sometimes they hold a New Years Eve Party in the local Salle de Fete. These are obviously very french and usually very enjoyable, finishing at about 5 in the morning. We have found that the French celebrate New Year more so than Christmas.

Ask at the Mairie or Tourist Office.

Bonne Annee

Hi

just worth saying that reveillon St Sylvestre nights are very expensive. Not surprising as the coffee arrives at 07.00 and the live music costs are the highest for any night of the year.

In this area, you can expect to pay Euro 60+. And good restaurants are quoting Euro 120 !

That's a good idea.  I did that last year.  But make sure to go somewhere nearby, as we were stuck in a traffic jam for 4 hours.  When we did eventually get on the slopes they were jammed packed.  We ended up a very cold and tired family.
