Mont Les Olmes.  We have not heard of it.  What is the sking like there?  What are the runs and lifts like?  We are not keen on pull lifts. Ax LeTherm is on our agenda this year but we would like to go back to Pasa De La Casa because we enjoyed it so much last year. Many thanks for your replies   Gail

Would anyone know if there is anything going on this New Years Eve in Carcassonne or Limoux this year?  This is our first Christmas in France and we would not like to miss out on anything?

We have recently purchased our property in Lauraguel.  We wanted to open a bank account but was asked for a utility bill etc.  We have since received our first two bills water and electricity. Any ideas how I can pay these bills without a cheque book? My parents tried to pay them for us while staying at the house but cash was unacceptable. Frustrated    

We are considering erecting a wall along our boundary and I know we must inform the Marie of our intent (form filling etc).  Would this apply if we planted a hedge or conifers? 

  We are not sure if it is temporary or if there are more lorries than normal.  There is a lot of road works going on at the moment.  I will contact the Marie and perhaps come to some arrangement about the signs.  We do have a language problem because he does not speak any english and our french is minimal. I still love the house and the area and it would be perfect without the Lorries  

We have recently purchased a house in Lauraguel it is on what we thought was a quite side road.  Unfortunately the narrow road is not quite and large Lorries are passing through as a short cut.  We have been told by the neighbours that the Lorries are prohibited from using the road but ignore it.   Is there anything we can do or any one to whom we can complain?  

We are thinking of having a pool.  Our house is in Limoux but no one has mentioned this to us, not even the pool installer from which we have received a quote? 

We will be arriving shortly and will need gas/propane bottles plus fittings.  Can you offer any suggestions? Many thanks what would I do with out you?

Hi I'm back again for much needed help and advice.  We are shortly coming out to our new house in France at Lauraguel, nr Limoux.  We desperately need a wall and wrought iron fence put up or perhaps just a wrought iron fence.  Can anyone recommend a good builder who doesn't charge over the odds and a good blacksmith for the fence and gates.  Is there somewhere you can buy wrought iron fencing and gates? We would eventually like to have a pool installed any recommendations would be appreciated. This may be a stupid question but when we have come to France on holiday we always used bottle water for drinking and cleaning our teeth.  Can we drink the water?  We would like an american style fridge with water and ice dispenser. Once again thank you for all your help.  

We've done it! Still feeling anxcious but excited at the same time and we will be glad when we finally get the keys.  Which should be the end of May. I would like to thank you for the help and recommendations recieved.  Maitre Benoit Duchan the Notaire was lovely and spoke perfect english.  He made us feel more confident and put us at our ease. We went sking but unfortunatly could not ski at Ax Le Therm.  It was school holidays and all accommodation was taken.  We went further on to Andorra.  We are so thrilled at how close to sking and the med the house is. Hi Thanks for all your advice, I have taken it on board and at least feel a bit more confident for our trip next week. Looking forward to the sking.

We are preparing to purchase a property in Lauraguel near Limoux.  Can any one give us some advice or insight to the area?  We have fallen in love with this place.  How ever we are very nervous of making the commitment?  Can anyone recommend a Notaire we could use that speaks excellent english.  Our French is non excistant.  Do we require a survey on the property and if so can anyone recommend a professional in this area. We will be arriving in Limoux on the 21st of February and hope to go sking at Ax Le Therme combining business with pleasure can anyone recommend some where to stay in Ax Le Therme or recommend a web site where we can book on line?
