loulou68
My husband is registered in France working here and in UK - no problem there - tax and Social Costs paid here but what happens if he now takes employment in UK pays UK tax and NIC at source and spends most of his time in UK whilst wife and two children are here in France and property is in France. Myself and kids are currently covered under my husbands RAM contributions. I assume he would have to close self employed business down and pay tax and NIC in UK but where does that leave me and the children with regards to medical cover? Do we apply to CPAM again? Before we were covered under CPAM but under my husbands name. This isn't a case of separation or divorce - sadly its a financial need to get us back on our feet.We do have a accountant here and are awaiting his advice.thanks louise
Nick Trollope
Yes, I believe so. If he gets a job in the UK (and lives/pays tax in the UK), then he would get an E106 for you & the kids, which you would take to CPAM. Or perhaps you could subscribe to CPAM and pay 8% of your income (from your OH) as social charges....Or ask CPAM!
Spicy
I'll be interested in what you find out, I posted something similar before. Maybe this link will help but we are just in the early stages of deciding if it's a good idea to move to France so wont have any definitive answers before you. http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/782855/ShowPost.aspx Sorry you'll have to type the link into your browser as I don't know how to get it so you just click it.(Edited by RH to make link click-able) Highlight link, then click on ball&chain icon in the post toolbar. Val_2
I believe you need form E109 not E106 when one is still paying in the UK and working there for dependents in France, that is what I had and it only lasts 12months maximum.
Will
I think the answers given to Spicy in the topic referenced above were pretty comprehensive, and backed up by other references and experience. You could be issued with either E106 or E109. Which is better is probably up to your individual circumstances.
