Help! EDF/Consuel

Recommended Posts

Hello All - we have just finished our house in 47 after a long haul but keep being cut off by EDF because the bulider will not meet up with the EDF chap so we cannot obtain the Consuel

We are at the end of our tether with the builder who will now not respond to us at all!

We have been told by our French architect (who has been exceptionally good) that he knows of no other way of getting the Consuel and that the builder has to turn up and sort it out

Surely this cannot be the case?

Does anyone know how to contact the EDF or has been in the same situation as we are and can offer us a solution?

All replies would be most gratefully received

Thanks in advance

Lou & Michelle

Normally it is the electrician who installed the work who deals with the CONSUEL. The householder pays the initial fee and the electrician/works manager send off for the paperwork to head office in Paris along with a letter giving all the details of the property etc. The forms then come back to be filled in by the electrician and then returned to the regional office, who will then let him know when their inspector will be calling. EDF are not usually involved unless they have done the electrical installation as they too are controlled by the CONSUEL who are an independent inspection body and who issue the certificate of conformite so that EDF can switch the property on etc.The electrician must be onsite when given the date of the visit except for an extreme excuse.
