If you weren't, you need to accept that they have worries and whatever assurances you give them personally, they will not be swayed by you alone. There are a ton of legal eagles over the Eures site - http://www.europa.eu.int/eures/home.jsp?lang=enYou need a legal disclaimer, in writing, to reassure your UK employer that making use of you, and paying you, will not land them a fine.
