Ikea has branches in France which deliver. Lepeyre and Castorama, amoungst thousands of other companies including Hygena sell kitchens.

Paint is the thing, but really how can you set up a business here and pay all the social charges a business has to pay, pay your fuel costs and ferry costs and sell the paint cheaper than paint is here.

Certainly on DIY goods I've never found a good enough incentive to get them from the UK  -  paint is as everyone knows an exception but as people have pointed out, with your own costs on top it would no longer be a 'good deal' for expats.

In another post of yours I agree that people do buy things off the interest via UK outlets to then be shipped by relatives or friends to France if the supplier won't do it. We've found that all things to do with babies are expensive here in France. A Tomy baby monitor 50% more here, a car sea for 10kg upwards £65 more here than England. Really everything.... it's crazy. We even bought the pushchair off a not very professional looking web site for a Spanish company as we saved c. 30% on the prices here. This area could be worth a look but unless you have children it would be a whole world and learning experience for you!

Good luck,

Richard
