Installing wood burner

We currently have a Godin woodburner, but it is very inefficient and smokes constantly.   We are thinking of changing it for an insert coupled with a hot air system to sent the heat from the fire to other parts of the house.   Has anyone had exerpience of this type of system and can offer us some advice and an idea of costings?

Have just helped a good friend install such a system, his fire had 2 fanned outlets built in so was quite simpe, can't speak for the metal box distribution system. We took insulated flexible tube up 1 floor to master bedroom, and 1 horizontally and then up into a mezzanine kitchen.€45 for 10m of flexi tube €1.50 for large jubilee clips (2 for each end of flexitube, 1 for the insulation, and 1 to secure metal foil). €10 straight joint, €15 for Y or T, and €15 for floor fitting. They are over the moon on how it works, but You won't get as much heat as you think, but as "free" secondary heat it was well worth the cost, it certainly takes the chill off otherwise unheated rooms.
