How to colour rendering

We have a breeze block constructed outbuilding, only c. 3 years old which I'd like to render. I've read with interest a post from 4 years ago which talks about rendering.

I want to colour the rendering, either to match the house (c. 12 years old) or, something completely different. How do I go about colouring it? Obviously painting the finished render is one method, but I'm sure you can pre-colour the render somehow.....?

Many thanks,

Richard

Thanks for that, looks very useful. It is the exterior I want to do, and if we colour match to the house we're looking at one of the yellow tones.

When you say the local sand gave your house enough colour, I assume it must be a light shade of yellow then? Does it compare to any of the colours listed on http://www.parexlanko.com/pro_nuancier_48.php? I'm intrigued as to what finish you can get just dependent on the coour of the sand.

Roughly Janune Paille on the link (colour names come up when you hover over the bricks)

It is actually matches Meuliere exterior paint which we purchased from Leroy Merlin. Unfortunately their web site does not have a colour chart for their paints ! We used the paint on the garage wall which became our kitchen dinning room wall

Link above shows roughly the colour . NB based on white cement
