Tiling

Waiting for a quotation for the tiling of 2 bathrooms, toilet and a bathroom.

How does a tiler price a job? Is it per square meter, or does he/she look at the tiles, big, small, square or rectangular?

Any advice gratefully received.

Hi, I have found that in general they do tend to price per metre. However, I think it will depend on the tiler and region. The devis we received varied because of the products needed to tile on upstairs wooden floorboards. However, if it is a straight forward tiling job, I would imagine a price per meter would be the norm. They would show the metre price based on your specific tiles and products such as the glue and grout used.

I would recommend showing or discussing what your tiles are before they give you a price. I have just recently had a bodge job from a tiler and have just chosen a new one to finish the job in the other bathroom.[:(]
