I know this posting may be late but are there any good recommended places for the Journee European de Patrimonage on Sunday in the Limousin area? We need somewhere with seats as my mum suffers from arthritis and can't walk far without needing a rest.

Thanks for all your replies. I have booked to travel in November and after looking at all your links I think it may be easier to get my parents to come and pick me up. I hope they add one soon, or at least it would be handy when the new Poitiers to Limoges TGV line opens and then it allows Ryanair travellers greater flexibility on which airports to fly in and out of regardless of their location.

I went to the event today (Saturday) and had a great time however I have a few complaints None of the posters gave any timings or the route the cars would take and I later found this reading the Charante Libre on the Saturday When we tried to buy tickets for tomorrow the sellers tried to sell us 23Euro tickets for Saturday and Sunday and I read in the paper that tomorrows races are only 13Euros (we were not too bothered about viewing the cars in parc ferme.Apart from that I found it much better than the Rally du Porceline in Limoges. At least this time they've organised a motor event which is not on the same weekend as F1.

We ordered the Adant knee injections through the post and sent off the ordernance and brown form and CPAM have sent it back asking for the sticker or packaging from the box, however we do not have this as the doctor did not remind us to keep hold of it and not being used to the French system we forgot how they put the stickers from the perscriptions on the brown forms. My question is now can we get the 70% reimbersments, or will the French system deny it to us because we can't find the box and this stamp we need. I can't see why it can't be reimbursed with the ordanance and brown form.

My Dad and I who are on temporary Carte Vitales asked CPAM whether we needed to surrender our English EHIC card and apply for a French one and we were told we didn't need a French one. Is this true or will the French not issue one unless you are either on a permenant Carte Vitale (i.e. retirement age) or working and paying into the French system? My mum turned 60 this year and she was told to apply for a French EHIC card and return the English one to Newcastle.

What does it mean by Severe epilepsy? I have mild epilepsy and have the occasional nocturnal seizure and am on new and expensive drugs to keep my seizures under control. Does this mean I am not covered under the 100% covered by CPAM unlike the UK where all my medications are 100% free? Before I left the UK I asked my consultant if I could try being off medication and he implied this is not a good move as my epilepsy would be more severe and that I would possibly be on medication for life as my epilepsy is not easily treatable by current drugs.

Which illnesses does this apply to? In our family we have Blood Pressure and Epilepsy, both which require regular medicine. Can we get drugs for these illnesses for free (even if one Carte Vital is due to run out in January)?

I've worked for a year and 7 months as my course included a sandwich placement. Ironically if the recession had not hit, I would not be here and would be earning money and get my medication free as its one of those on the exemption list in the UK. I just hope the jobs market improves before my card runs out. Without a job here I can just about get by living with my parents and paying for my medication, but if I have to pay the full amount, then I'm in trouble.

I got my Carte Vitale on my E106 in January this year. If the CPAM refuse me a card after it expires, what can I do about my expensive medicine which usually costs me 20E but without the card is over 100E? Do we have to write to Newscastle or the carte vitale people after the expiry date or do they automatically renew it? I am in an akward stituation where my parents moved out here in 2004 while I was a student. I graduated from university in 2007 and managed to have a 7 month contract in London and spent the rest of 2008 looking for a job but could not find one with my lack of experience so I've been forced to move out here and live with my parents. My French is not great (basic GCSE level) so I'm finding it hard to get a job here. I'm learning WPF in the hope to find a job back in the UK once the jobs market improves but if my CV suddenly stopped, I would be in debt paying for my medication. Any suggestions?

My Mum has recently turned 60 so she gets a free Carte Vitale for life. Can my Dad (who's Carte Vitale runs out next year and is 55) get a free card as a dependant from my mum? Also I am 24 (25 in October) and my card runs out soon, can I be a dependant on my mothers card as I have an illness which requires expensive drugs I could not afford if and when my card runs out?

Benjamin, I would definately put that but are you honest and put your French address down and how many employers will turn down your application for having a French address on it?

Pickles, thanks for your pm. Do they have people at the Pôle Emploi who speak any English as I only know the basics and anything up to GCSE level e.g. food, numbers e.t.c. but my grammar is a bit bad?

I am a 24 year old who graduated two years ago with a degree in Computer Science and could not find a job in the UK and has had to come out to France to live with her parents. Can I claim unemployment benefit and can the French help me fins a job either here or in the UK? My level of French is basic GCSE. I did not claim unemployment benefit before leaving the UK as I thought I would be able to get a job and spent my time going for interviews rather than contacting companies with no interest. I feel like I am in a no win situation. Here I can't find a job with my lack of French but I could not be able to live in the UK unless I can get a job and that is made worse with my French address.

When the recession is over I am planning to move back to the UK and get a job there. I am a 24 year old female graduate living with my parents in France until the UK job market picks up. I am concerned on how to overcome the obstacle of me living in France rather than the UK when looking for a job. Any tips or useful recommendations which have helped people get jobs in the UK while they have been living in France?

Our Tax d'Habitation has increased quite steeply since we renovated the house and the value brute has gone up by nearly 15%. The form you fill in asks for how many bathrooms / rooms with toilets e.t.c. you have but at what point in the renovation must they be declared and counted as finished for tax purposes i.e. when the extension is an empty shell, or has been plastered or when completely painted and all furniture is in place and the room is in use? We have a house which has been converted and extended over 5 years and we are living in two bedrooms and a bathroom with no kitchen (all cooking e.t.c. is done in one bedroom) so does this mean we only pay tax for two rooms plus a bathroom?

Thanks for the link. If my medication is there, does that mean my French GP can perscribe it as my pharmacist looked as few days ago and said it wasn't available but its on that list?

How do you arrange an eye test and how do you know which ones speak good English? We live in the Limousin (87) region.

How do you find out when a drug has been approved for use and the French government will give rembursment from the drug company on the carte vitale? I am ready to start a new medication which is available in many countries but not yet in France and my specialist has asked me to find out and make an appointment to see him when its available. I have asked the pharmacist if she would let me know but she seemed reluctant to keep checking for me.
