  1. No they would not pay because he paid for his train ticket  to the airport cash and not by my card!!!  If I had bought the rail ticket with my mastercard he would have been convered, but as it was his delay at getting to the airport for the flight and the flight was not cancelled or delayed he was not covered.  The wording all seemed very vague, in fact when I spoke to Britline, who I got my card from, they were a little surprised, so spoke to them also.

In fact it is impossible for me to book his train ticket with my card as Trainline and national express will not accept foreign cards for a delivery to a UK address, so back to the drawing board for journeys from Eastbourne to La Baule!!  I know the train is an option, but they are still limited journeys.

  2. apparently it was emergency overhead cable work,   they will refund part of his train fare!!! not his missed flight though, and my gold mastercard let me down also even though I booked with the card they wont cover his missed flight!!!

BacK to using BF as a foot passenger; more reliable and cheaper. anyway students are supposed to travel rough!!!!!!  Originally from the North I used to think the south had the best deals for getting to West France,   but as Ryanair seem to have pulled their daily Stansted to Nantes flight and no sign of Easyjet bringing back Gatwick to Nantes, I am not so sure now!!!!

  3. Anyone know why this train was cancelled yesterday 13th Dec?   My son was herded onto a coach from Tottenhale Hale as the train was not running due to aproblem I dont seem to be able to find out about!!   after a long jouney stopping at various villages he arrived too late for his Ryanair flight to Nante!  by 3 mins, how annoying. I  Still faith in human nature as he also left his wallet at the side of the computer area, when he realised early this morning and returned to the airport for another flight, he found his wallet had been handed intact tolost property.  So thank you to that person.  Now to see how efficient my  mastercard  travel insurance is!!

  5. My son 19 went to the Tribunal to ask how to go about French citizenship recently , he was told it would be possible but as Britain did not allow dual nationality he would have to give up his British citizenship.   Another couple we know here where he is english and she is french,  was told the same story at the same office.   Anyone come across this?

  8. Well just because I am feeling proud,  my son arrived here in 4eme with no french, he has just passed his BAC S with a mention assez bien.   So all is possible I cant say he had a great determination,  the answer for him was to let all the negative comments often thrown at him from the teachers go over his head, and revise the night before, if the footie was not on!!!   So uni here we come and move over Gary Lineker.

  9. Thank you all for your advice.   I have changed her litter to a white more refined one, made sure all the bedroom doors are closed and have sprayed the sofa with an antirepellent.  Touch wood we have had no problems since.    She is an only cat.

  10. Hi,

My 9month old kitten has now decided to wee and poo outside of her litter try, not all the time, but has chosen my sons bed and the sofa!!   We have now confined her to the sous sol on a night time, and encouraged all the children to shut their doors,   what product can we use to get rid of the odour and to discourage her to do this?

We have not moved her tray or changed the product we use, and its intermittant!!

  11. Hi

Just wondering is it okay to give rabbits the celery leaves,  I usually cut up stalks for him but thought rather than waste, can I give him the whole lot?  I give him also apples, carrots broccili, lettuce, is there other fruit and veg I can use?   I hate all the dried foods.

  12. Not sure if too mature for her but how about Amélie Nothomb,   or get the books she normally reads  in French!  FNAC, and all the big informatique stores sell them or amazon.fr.  I guess see is studying Molière at school.  On the kids bookshelf here we have 'Classiques de poche, Molière and Voltaire but also Da Vinci Code, Anthony Horwitc etc, all in french.

We have tried for two days to book flights for children via the contact centre, but noone answers!!  Any ideas how we can book these flights?  I believe the call centre in Ireland has now been closed, so do old backdoor numbers still work?
