Yes, but you have to use your RTT days when you are off sick, without a note, and generally you cannot take them as a weeks holiday, but to use them to add to bank holidays to make extra long weekend ends, also if you dont use them you cannot carry them forward. It really replaces overtime. I wonder, is there such a thing as overtime payment here?

Hi
Here in France I have just started using the progressive lens contact lenses, so no need to get my oh reading glasses out in a restaurant now! Check your mutuelle as mine pays out up to 285 euros per year for contact lenses which just about covers the monthly costs. You just need tomake sure everytime you leave the eye doctors you get another appt for a year ahead!!

Hi
We are going to meet friends in Paris for a weekend, two couples, we would like to combine dinner with a river cruise. Anyone any comments of Bateaux Parisien or Bateaux Mouche? We are staying in the Latin Quarters.
Parisien offers window seating for an extra price, anyone know what Mouche offer as their website only stalks about different menus?
Its for next weekend!

For anyone looking for french state schools with international sections here in France, below is a website with lots of useful information on the OIB. Also if you look under Associations, members you will get an idea of where some of the schools are based.
We have been told by our Headmaster that the French government is now looking to fund the International parts of the school, therefore at some time in the future these will have no fees attached to them, maybe as early as 2007.

I must admit I only saw the last 15 mins of this programme, but since when were pubs an authority on food? must of the pubs I have eaten in serve evrything with chips and peas! and served with alcohol.
I also thought Tony Blair agreed to a certain amount of money and asked him to prepare a presentation for the rest, assuming that will be ready by the time he has gone maybe?
But JO went on about he had agreed to everything.
I saw the first series and thought the issuie of low pay to the canteen staff was good. Did they ever get a large national payrise?

Do I just cut off the damaged leaves?
Its not in a particularly windy spot, but it is not sheltered either! May move round next to my lemon patio tree which always does well.

Thanks everyone, I shall go with him down to the Marie, as he too will be starting driving lessons soon. We arrived at the beginning of 2003 so he will be just over 18 at five years.

Mine son is now 17 and has his own bank account and cheque book here in France. He is at the age where ihe is sometimes asked for a piece identite when out and about, I am not happy that he carries his UK passport with him when out and about, at what stage can he apply for a french id card? He has just started Premiere, after starting school here in 5eme. He was given a social security number when he worked this summer vacation. Should he just go down to the Marie?

For when we travel to the uk, I bought a Virgin pay as you go deal online, thru UK, not France, phones cheaper then they will unblock your phone for free after you have spent 35 pounds with them, they just sent me by email the unblocking code.
There is a difference between unblocking a sim that you have put in the wrong pin and unblocking a phone. Generally for unblocking a sim after inputting wrong pin, you can find the PUK code on your original box.
Lollie,
ps yep sorry, its Breizh and Virgin France who use Orange network.
-
In France they are obliged to unblock your phone for free after six months. I believe nrj use the orange network therefore it would have worked blocked, as do virgin france, and Breizh.

Why not look at one of the state run schools with an international section? Here in La Baule we pay just 150 euros per year for the international section. There is also an option to board here. There are several throughout France, maybe there is one in your area?

I have two totals on my leclerc receipts, one is an amount which goes up slowly, the other is points, once my points reach 5000 I go to the reception desk and ask them to convert to euros, its around 70e for 5000 points, then when I come to pay I ask for the amount deducted, for me its usually around 150 euros each year I get back.
