  1. Hi Everyone, I wanted to update some information. I do live in the united states, I received the letter from the bank at my USA address. I do not have a home in France. The bank is located in Paris. My parents opened the account when I was a child and i'm 23 now and because I can handle my own finances, my mom gave me all the info for it a few years back. The money there has been pretty steady and i have only withdrawn one time two years ago. I am a USA Resident, not citizen. I filed a 1040...I suppose I could enclose a copy of it. Any other info would be great. if some one could type me a sample letter in letter in French. That would accomplish my mission. Keeping in mind that i will send them a copy of a bill and my tax 1040....thank you
  2. Well that 's what i thought. That's why i was going to at least attempt to write something in French about what I am sending and to what account it is for....but my bill and tax return, it  would be too complicated to redo in french, i dont think it would be official either, i suppose i could send both french and english versions.....i will try your suggestions and thank you to the above responses with the translation. I really appreciate it. Thank you so much.
  3. Thank you so much to everyone that took the time to write me back. I have a few more questions. Is it really acceptable for me to write in english to this bank in France? even though, I have typed french letters before with the help of my mother's excellent French translation? Won't they find it weird, i guess I could explain it to them since it will be in English and that's my first language. AS for my taxes, I am filing them this months, along with a bill, both will be in English. I'm assuming that's ok, since it is their responsibility to translate. I just want to make sure I got it correct. Finally could someone here help me translate this sentence, so I could write up a little note and put it in with the required proof of address. "I am confirming that I am a resident of the United States of America with the enclosed billing statement" Thank you so much again....
  4. Hi Everyone, I'm new to this site, but i am hoping I can get some help in spelling and writing out something that my bank in France needs from me. My family is from France but I never lived there, I currently reside in the USA. My parents had opened an account for me in France. This bank is now asking for a "attestation de residence fiscale". My parents are no longer able to help me with the wording or what it all means, since my french is very basic. Can someone please explain to me what my bank needs from me, is it a bill from the electricity company to show proof of my residence, or do i have to write out a special letter with the heading" ATTESTION DE RESIDENCE" and so... any help would be appreciated. If someone could write it out for me, and i could fill in the blanks with where i live, i would be so grateful. Just incase, you need more info, this is what the bank wrote to me "Merci de nous adresser une attestation de residence fiscale, celle-ci doit nous etre adressee chaque annee." Sorry i don't have a french keyboard to type in the proper letters with the accents. Thank you and Merci Mariepeanuts
