1.
I seem to remember there is a hand method where you make the mixture put it in the freezer and then re-visit with a fork every hour or so. Is that correct please and does it work please
I've made ice-cream this way and it worked fine.  It is a little labour intensive and easy to forget to stir it.

I used a metal bowl and a metal spoon to scrape the frozen part off the inside surface of the bowl. This scraping and stirring is what makes the 'fluffiness'.   I can't see any reason why this method wouldn't work for sorbet.

I was given an ice-cream maker as a gift, the type with a bowl to freeze and  an electric stirrer in the lid. The ice-cream made in this is lighter (fluffier) because it's stirred all the time.  I don't use the whole machine very often but the frozen bowl gets used for serving boules of (shop bought!) ice-cream or ice cubes for drinks.

    Hope that helps

  2. Liquide lampe a petrole.

This is for sale at the moment in Bricomarche and Intermarche,  in plain 1l white plastic bottles (on the shelf near turps, white spirit, linseed oil etc in the same style of bottle).

    Hope that helps.

  3. I know quite a few people who work around Toulouse and who use English as the first language at work. They tend to work in IT or aerospace and are employed for specific skills/qualifications rather than, for example, on the reception desk.

Also, there used to be a big Hewlett Packard presence in Grenoble; engineers from all over Europe were trained there (in English).  I'm not sure if it still exists as I was there 15+ years ago.

Grenoble is not too far from Lyon, another big city... It might be worth looking at Lyon, Bordeaux and Marseille. I would also check out Strasbourg.

I hope that helps a bit and encourages others to add their experience. Good luck with your search. I'm sure you'll find plenty of leads with this kind of proactive research.

  4.
Looks like a bunch of amateurs running this site. If you are going to make a change you test it before releasing it.
It looks, to me, like the ad revenue team got hold of the style sheets ...and have efficiently increased the number of ads on the forum pages:  For even greater economy neither a designer or proof-reader was consulted. [Www]

However, I do love a good conspiracy theory...

Could it be a clever new marketing strategy, aimed at circumventing the mental ad filters we all develop..?

The coloured banner will soon be no more noticable than the Google ad strip down the right-hand side of the page.  Of course, while we get used to it, and because it spans some useful info on the page, we may accidentally click on it a few times. [6]

  5. Nothing at all wrong with the retired schoolmistress look, in some circles it's very popular. (Nudge, nudge, [;-)][;-)] ) To rock the CSI medical examiner look try something like this...

  7. The black figures are cubic metres. The red figures represent litres. (1 cubic metre = 1000 litres)

  8. whether or not I will be "weightbearing" or "non-weightbearing"

Su, I'm sure somebody would have attempted to help further but this is a bit confusing. Can a person can be non-weight bearing? A leg or a joint, yes ...but a whole person? [8-)]

... unless you're having liposuction? [blink]
