  1. That's what they always say, and it's not very scientific! Anyway the kid had had tons of other multiple jabs, so who knows which one damaged her system?
  2. 'Measles in the UK.' My daughter had measles not so long ago. No problem. I do know for a fact that many vaccinated kids can get a modified form of measles which is actually worse than normal measles!
  3. I fail to understand how the unvaccinated can be a threat to the vaccinated! Seems a little bit strange. What's the medical profession afraid of, if their wonderful vaccinations are so effective? Also there has recently been a case in the US where the MMR jab was directly linked to autism. There was an article in New Scientist magazine about it not so long ago. Apparently the parents won the case! As I said before, there is a rise in chronic illness in young children who have been given these multiple jabs. Of course most of the medical profession say it isn't true, but then they would. They get a bonus every time they vaccinated a kid.
  4. My sister is a tennis coach and she swears by infrared light treatment for sports injuries and arthritis. You can buy a lamp for about fifty quid.
  5. I know that the Notary doesn't get all the money. But I don't want the Government to get it either! It's disgusting. I'd rather give the 9% to a charity.
  6. For once I have to say, good old Blighty! Many health professional are against these multiple jabs. It's no coincidence that many kids now are suffering from all sorts of chronic illnesses, as well as developing all sorts of allergies. I have two children, a 5 year old and a 10 year old and I have not had them vaccinated. They are both very healthy, more healthy than their vaccinated school friends.
  7. You don't pay that much in the UK. It's a huge sum of money, especially when the house that I would like to buy would be in the price range of 350000 euros! Ten percent of that is a very large sum indeed!
  8. Hello everyone, could any of you tell me if it's true that  in addition to the purchase price, one has to pay 7-9% by way of transfer duties? Seems like daylight robbery to me! Thanks in advance.
  9. Lol, Woody, you make it all seem so easy! I like the bit about the red wine... but tell me, how do you open a french bank account online? I can pull a cork ok, but I'm not really an internet expert.
  10. I've had a look at the Latitudes' website. They don't look too bad, I might give them a call. Thanks again for mentioning them.
  11. I got your message, Maricopa. Many thanks. I was thinking of approaching them but now I'll avoid them like the plague!
  12. Thank you, Virginia. Fortunately most  people have been helpful. The silly ones are, thankfully, in the minority! I hope you have a hassle free move.
  13. Maricopa, I didn't get your email. Could you possibly resend? Thanks!
  14. If you would only read my message properly, you would see that most removals companies will deal with people throughout the UK. Therefore it's not necessary to say where I live. OK? If you can't offer me constructive advice, like many other people have, why are you bothering to send messages to this thread???
  15. Hello again, Gardion. If you take the time to read any of the removal company ads in LF mag, you will see that many of them travel throughout the UK to pick up furniture. They don't just stick to the one area. It would be rather counter-productive. For example, if a removal company based in, say, Wiltshire, only worked in that area they would have to hope that the whole of Wilts decided to move to France in order to get any business! I hope you understand now. I'm beginning to wonder why you seem so keen to know where I live.
  16. People are trying to help you here! At the very least be polite! There are terrible companies about! AND YES they do smash up furniture and worse! They will demand more money before they release your effects than you have paid for them to deliver it! If you think they are all professional, you have a lot to learn! AND the moderators on here are very good and have a job to do! Please do not critise them!   I really don't know what you're referring to. I have been polite, and I said nothing critical about the moderators. I was simply responding to what someone else said. Perhaps you've misunderstood.
  17. If you don't want to upset the moderator, could you please email me privately? Thanks very much for your help.
  18. Interesting! Are creative writing groups popular in France. At present I am working as an editor for a large publishing company in the UK. A couple of our authors were talking about giving talks to writing groups in France, but didn't know whether any one would be interested. These authors are quite well known in the UK, they write commercial fiction. Is it worth passing on your details to them?
  19. Oh dear, Gardian, what a shame... never mind!
  20. Thanks for that. The removals firms that I've looked at seem quite willing to go to any part of the UK. That's why I didn't mention a specific area. I would definately be willing to pay a bit extra for a good service.
  21. And of course some folks will benefit from the lows, tis an ill wind...
