failing that there are many recipes on google for home-made cottage cheese.
-
agreed. I did some French Googling and it seems the question is regularly asked. Cottage cheese in Canada is called ... cheese cottage and in France 'cottage cheese'. A comment was that it is as futile to try and translate cottage cheese as it would be to find a translation for 'ricotta' or 'Wensleydale'. Bonne chance!

you don't have to nick it - just ask nicely! My neighbour has just given me a small bale of barley straw to clear my pond! LOL.
-
and of course in the South you add a 'g'! And yes it is rude (means 'whore') - but kids these days use it all the time - like kids in the UK with f.....k.

FRENCHIE ARE YOU LISTENING?

Yes very kind thank you. Well I'll give it a try. Dad was a catholic so we never had meat, or fish (or turtle!!!) - on Fridays.. So I'll make it our meat free day too -Do you suggest we should use as much coal, gas, petrol as we can, not recycle, or more importantly not generate so much rubbish- lets all go on a wasting spree, and laugh our way into oblivion. Really?

behave yourself Frenchie! Anyway if you want him to fall in love with you, you've got to become vegetarian! LOL

Agree to both of you!

Hand on my heart - it was all his own idea! he is really taking his 'integration duties' very seriously. All the neighbours love him to bits for his enthusiasm à la quiet British style.I thought you meant how did you persuade him to put you and Cendrillon up!!! I haven't told him about it yet - it will be a surprise. He thinks I am totally nuts for talking to strangers on a forum. LOL
-
LOL-very proud of him actually - making a huge effort since we arrived 2 months ago AND he is learning the accordeon! WOW
-
my english OH doesn't know the difference between his 'cul' and his 'cou'!

LOL - I know you didn't mean that ... But I do! And I promise to visit in hospital, etc. Will be great fun. BUT I AM NOT LENDING YOU MY CAR (sorry!) - too many doors around here.xx
-

was going to advise Auberges de Jeunesse too. Meet all sorts of nationalities, types, great fun. If you join the YHA in the UK you can use Auberges de Jeunesse in France. Bonne chance.see www.fuaj.org and www.hihostels.com

Odile, it was you, you naughty person who taught that naughty word, "chiffe-molle". But, thank you for your concern.
You've no idea the naughty things that you have taught me in French. When I use your naughty words in my French class, even the teacher is nonplussed (or is that a French word as well?)
[/quote]What is your teacher like??? As a languages teacher I always enjoyed seeing my students use all sort of expressions including popular/slang/cockney/Shakesperian, whatever. What a shame if you teacher poopoos these! Have you got over your door emotions! xx -
Mooky - sorry this is the 'wrong' thread - but any luck with re-homing your cats? When are you off to UK?Post moved by a moderator
