Hi Everyone, We are moving to france within the next 12 months. I keep seeing bad reports about adverse re-actions to rabbies jabs in cats and dogs, them being not only just after the jab but later in the following months with tumours etc. Can anyone reassure me about any pets that were ok with it all? Rather worried michelle

Hi, Are English hairdressers hard to find then? We are buying in Charente this year and i have over 25 years in the hairdressing trade. Have not done much for 6 months due to back probelms but i would certainly take it up again on a slower basis than here in th UK. Will keep this site noted and come back!

Hi We are looking to buy in that area this year (2008), getting excited now but also lots of planning. By the way we are 39 and 44. We are keen entertainers here in UK love French wine, cooking, animals, i want to take my horse with me and in the next few years start up riding stables. Love Soul music, John does like bikes he just sold his for the winter as he never rode it, plus trying to raise more funds!! First we got to find more staff to help run our 2 shops in UK before we move over full time. So to start with maybe will only have long visits, this depends on the animal movement side of things as i also have 2 cats and a dog. Hoping to get to Charente this may for viewings, so got lots to plan. have looked at the pets thread on here but evrybody seems to have only bad news about the rabbies jab, does anybody have any poistive experiences? michelle and John manchester to Charente hopefully soon!!!

Try giving them odourless garlic pearls, pop them and let them lick it off. Fleas ands ticks hate garlic. Once in the blood supply of the dog or cat they will not bite. I give it to my 2 cats and dog and they love it! Also lavender oil is good for sore skin but water it down first in a carrier oil, it will help to sooth. hope that helps.
