So sorry to hear about all your problems and really cannot help practically but wanted to let you know that exactly one year ago we lost our little seven year old cat suddenly just like your Baby.  Our cat was perfectly healthy and showed no signs at all of any illness, went to bed as usual and we found her dead all curled up in her cosy bed in the morning.  I realise your circumstances mean that you feel there is some blame to be laid at the foot of those who were supposed to be looking after her, but I just wanted you to know that these things do happen and it just might be that she died peacefully without any suffering just like our lovely little pet.  Her friend was very lonely, but we have replacements now.   Good luck with getting your two other cats away from this terrible situation.

Hi Steve   Have you thought of looking around in the Auvergne?  My daughter has lived there for over four years and it is a great place.  Very rural, quiet roads, beautiful scenery.  Its get overlooked quite often as it so far from the sea, but it has a great deal to offer and first time visitors are normally very surprised.

Thank you for the replies.  We have a place now booked so I wont be worried about husband sleeping in the car!  We could have taken a chance but it is a busy weekend in France and we like to know what we are doing (most of the time, anyway).  Thanks again for the help.

Looking for a suitable stopover for husband (non French speaker) just for one night after he drops me off in Caen on Saturday 26 July.  He is heading south but wants to visit the Le Mans Museum.  We cannot find a reasonably priced hotel room.  Can anyone help or recommend.
