  1. My girlfriend and I have bought a property near Aigues Mortes (Port du Roy) in Langudoc.  The property is a three story building with the ground floor being a Salon du The/Restaurant.   The property is in a new development which will not be completed until the end of next year.  The development is a small scale copy of Port Grimaud (for those that aren't familiar Port Grimaud is near St Tropez\ and consists of some 4000 homes each with a privat boat mooring at the end of the garden, Port du Roy is the same only smaller with 400 houses, again each has a mooring for a boat)   I am interested in any advice/help that anyone has to give.  Current thoughts are around licenses.  What is required to open a restaurant etc. also pavement tables what is the process etc.   I have meetings with my notaire in France and am about to progress this kind of thing - however, if anyone can offer info/help then it would be v much appreciated   Manyt thanks
  2. How bizarre - we too are moving to Languedoc - and my girlfriend is also 6 weekd pregnant.  We have bought a salon du the/restaurant in a new development called Port du Roy (walking distance from Aigue Mortes).  Port du Roy is a copy of Port Grimaud, if you know it, only a lot smaller, 400 houses as opposed to Port Grimaud 4000)  The property is not due for completion until end of next year and in the meantime we have bought a boat and have been sailing around the med (in Ibiza at the moment).   We are going to Aigues Mortes next week and are staying in a hotel whilst exploring the local area and looking for a winter rental if we decide to stay there for the winter rather than here on the boat.   More than happy to share any contacts/experiences as we appear to be on parallel lines!!   Email me and we can expand the conversation.   How wierd!
  3. I have recently bough a house which consists of two floors of living accomodation above a salon du the/restaurant.  It a new build that is ready for completion end of next year.  It is within a development that copies Port Grimaud (for those who know it) only much smalle having only 400 houses as opposed to Port Grimaud's 4000! It is the only restaurant within this gated community and is a five minute walk from the historic town of Aigues Mortes.  I am kneen to hear from anyone who understands the process by which licenses are granted to restaurants and also the different types that exist.  Also the process for gaining permission to place tables and chairs on the pavement outside.   many thanks in advance
