I've recently imported a 1975 MGB and a 1983 Honda, it was impossibleto get a cerificateof conformity for the MG and the Prefectaire suggested I get the car inspected by the DRIRE so thismay be a route for you.
Incidently I found this --> http://www.howtobooks.co.uk/abroad/france/vehicle-import.asp
Have fun.

I have successfully imported a 1975 MGB and 1983 Honda into France and have French number plates (if you need advice on what's involved let me know). It's now time to insure them, I've contacted a number of insurance companies and they all need a certificate of valuation beforethey can calculate the cost of the insurace. I understand there is an organisation called the VGA (Voiture Grandement Accidente) who will value your car. I cannot find any reference to them anywhere in the internet nor can I find any reference to any other way of getting a valuation.
Does anyone out there know how I can get my cars valued?
Thanks.

You could also try downloading films from various P2P (peer to peer) sites butthis does involve a bit of fiddling with our PC.

Does anyone outthereknow where/how to buy Carte Neige ski insurance? My wfe and I have registered with the CPAM (Cassise Primaire d'Asurance Maladie) so we only need to get off the slopes and to a doctor. We've found numerous referances on t'internet but nowhere where we can buy.
Cheers,

If you have a house in France why not just import it? that way you may not need to worry about an MOT (bikes don't need then in France - not sure about combos though)
How old is the bike? I have just imported a 1983 Honda and as it's 25 years old it's possible to register it an a Vehicule de Collection hereby negating he need for a certificate of conformity - you just need to send the details to the F.F.V.E. and they will issuea certificate.
Hope this helps.
