I'm obviously missing something here with this question. I would have thought a quick Google would have brought up loads of travel clocks that display the time permanently and battery life isn't an issue with any of the ones I've had.

Why anyone would make their decision on how they will vote based on a TV programme is totally beyond me. A programme where all the participants will have rehearsed their performance (as well as they can anticipate the likely twists and turns) with their teams - roll plays etc.It bears no relationship to how competent any of these contenders are to actually run the country. We know from past history their track records on bullshit and lies.

Sounds like it should be a nice ride. What sort of distance is it likely to be (I realise this will be route dependent)? How many miles a day are you planning. I don't know how experienced you are as cyclists but it's worth looking at how much elevation you route will entail and also to have some idea on how the prevailing wind might effect you.You may find one of the many mapping web sites for cyclists useful. http://www.mapmyride.com/ might be of help as it will give you the opportunity not only to play around with routes but also to see how much climbing it will entail.Water top ups are often available from village eau potable taps.

Thanks for the feedback. Our Humax box feeds the TV via a HDMI cable so we do display HD if on the appropriate channel.This morning we have a good picture and the diagnostics (on BBC1 SD) are showing around 70%+ for Strength and Quality and around 60%+ on Tuner 2.What is confusing me is why yesterday Tuner 2 was not registering a signal.I guess we'll see how things develop.

The problem has been across channels but I've been primarily watching BBC1 (SD version). Although I have HD available I never bothered trying that once the problems started. Tonight all has been fine on both BBC1, BBC2, ITV3. Just tried BBC1 HD and that seems OK now.I guess I'll wait until the morning and see what happens then. The weather here today has been mainly sunny with a bit of a breeze (but not excessively strong).

It's a bit weird. I have a twin lnb going through a stacker/destacker (80cm dish) into a Humax Freesat box. Earlier today the diagnostics on the Humax were showing Tuner 1 strength in the 70% area and Quality 60%., Tuner 2 zilch, nada, zero.Now both tuner 1 and 2 are showing 70%+ for both Strength and Quality and the picture is good.???? Atmospherics? No idea!

Just returned to our house yesterday... TV signal - Freesat - fine last night. Today a bit variable.. broken image/no signal throughout daylight hours.. Strength 70%, Quality 60%. This evening it seems to have improved and signal stable. Any atmospheric reasons?We are in 46, east of Cahors., west of Cabrerets.

I lived in Clavering for around 2 years. The village now seems to be known for having Jamie Oliver's dad's pub - The Cricketers.I think Jamie Oliver was just a little kid at the time. A lovely village and all the surrounding villages were as well.

Just to follow up... I just googled bike hire Pyrenees.I'd get your friends to do the same. There are loads of bike hire places around that hire out road bikes. It's probably best they do it themselves then (as I presume they have cycling knowledge) they will be able to evaluate the bikes on offer. Some decent enough bikes seem to be listed.The usual format is that people bring their own pedals.

You could try signing up for the Bike Radar forums http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/Go to the Road section and then try asking in either General or Tours, routes and Organised Rides. There's a lot of good knowledge there and aside from the usual forum bickering, peiople are usually quite helpful.

We had exactly the same when we had telephone/internet installed for the first time. The internet worked but we had to wait around 12 days for the telephone to kick into life (despite chasing). I've never understood why the two services never went live concurrently... very archaic.

I recently bought a Canon MG4200 wireless printer/scanner/copier for use in France. The wireless setup was easy and is wirelessly linked to my Windows laptop and my wife's Mac. Can't comment on ink usage/performance yet and I only bought it (quite cheaply I thought) for occasional use.
