  1. Hi, We are moving out to a little village near Masseube in June/July. We found a local chap who helped us find a house to suit us and budget!! We have also visited the schools in Masseube for both our children 5 and 7 years of age. The youngest will go to the Maternelle which was lovely and very welcoming and our eldest (a very sensitive boy) was also very welcomed into the primaire which is about 50 yards up the road from the maternelle! Every time we have visited we have been extremely welcomed into the area and everyone seems very friendly and willing to help. Send me an email if you would like to know more. Good luck , Claire
  2. Are just about to sign our compromis de vente on a property in the Gers. Are considering sending the contract to a UK Solicitors for checking before signing. We are buying through Gers Property Services. Has anyone dealt with them and do you think its advisable to spend the extra money to get a UK company to check over the contract. Changing the subject totally, is it easy to buy/find nice oak furniture in the Gers and how to prices compare to the UK? (My husband would also like to know if sit-on-lawnmowers are cheapre in France!!) Many thanks Claire Baldwin
  3. Hi, we (myself, husband and two small boys!)are in the process of buying a house near Masseube in the Gers. We have 2 horses and would love to bring them with us. During our visits to France I have not seen many people 'out hacking' Are there many places to ride? Have heard the french aren't so strict on keeping to bridlepaths as we are, is this the case? would also like to hear from anyone who has moved horses over from the UK and what company they used to transport them, and any other useful information for our big move to the Gers! Look forward to hearing from you as have loads of other questions!! Claire
