Hi! I'm french and if you want to thank somebody, in France, the better way is to invite the person "à prendre l'apéro". L'apéro is a time, before the dinner, when we have a drink and we eat appetizers. It's the way to chat, to make acquaintance... Sorry for my bad english but if you have questions, no problems!!!
