Can anyone advise me please... I am moving to France with my partner and we intend to have a civil partnership when we get there. He is pensionable age and I am not. If we go through with the civil partnership, will I be entitled to the same benefits as him? Ie. free state care?   Thanks

Judging by the lack of response, the Correze seems to be the place to go...few ex pats and some glorious unspoilt countryside which is what I am seeking.

So...... Is the Correze a complete no go area then? Judging by the lack of comment, I might have to look elswhere if nobody is able to talk about it.

Will be visiting the Correze area of Limousin in September for the first time and seeking information about lovely rural areas to stay. Can anybody recommend to me their favourite RURAL areas in Correze? Is there much differnece between the West and East of the Department as the East looks much more remote and wooded. Is that so? Thanks.

Well, I'm going to throw the cat in amongst the pigeons  by saying that I live in Cyprus and am desperate to escape to France! Life in the sun in Cyprus becomes very boring after the honeymoon period has come to an end and I long for proper culture etc. that France has to offer. Anybody made a similar move from Cyprus to France?

I am planning a move to the Lot from Cyprus and need some legal advice about purchasing etc. Does anyone know a solicitor who gives free basic legal advice?

Mutiara, Believe me, you wouldn't want to suffer the heat & humidity we have had this summer! The trouble with the summer climate here is that it is continuous heat from early June to the end of September with no break at all. After ten years I'm sick of it and many other things about living in Cyprus. Sorry but no house swap either as I want to make a complete break from here but the trouble is finding buyers for property and thats another story!
