I have just been looking of the site Angloinfo.com and have come across a thread under Financial and Legal for the Riviera area. Basicaly the topic of this thread is about properties that are loacted in Zone Red fire risk areas. It goes on to say that new legislation has recently been passed which in a nut shell does not allow you to rebuild a property on the site after a major fire, that if your property is within a Red zone it will practicaly be worthless and you will not be able to sell same.  The thread does not specify which areas are designated as Red zones you would have to contact your local Marie to check.
