  1. I've set up our PC to send out through the Orange SMTP servers, but still collect mail from the variety of servers I use. Seems to work ok. No need to use the same servers on the way out as you do on the way in... Steve
  2. As Clair says Autumn is the best time, I would guess mid to late September so the days aren't too hot or the ground too dry.  But beware laurel can shoot up and go a bit wild as we discovered!! But it does attract a lot of wild life with several varieties of birds nesting in our outer boundary hedge. Make sure you plant them at least 1.5-2 metres away from your boundary, which makes trimming easier later on once it is established, I think this might be a legal requirement.. Regards Steve
  3. There are some fairly well known home pages, such as iGoogle and My Yahoo, but I've been using Protopage http://www.protopage.com It lets you create a page that has links, RSS feeds, actual webpages etc etc. So you can have all your regular links available on which ever PC, Mac, Linux box or any combination of them all... as long as it has an internet browser that supports Protopage it doesn't matter what the operating system is. You can share pages with friends too, so if you have a shared page, you and all contribute links or feeds that others might find interesting. I've found some blogs for France (to keep this vaguely on topic!) that have RSS feeds and included them on my Protopage, that way I don't have to keep visiting so many sites, when a new story is published it pops up on my Protopage straight away. I've been using it for about a year now and find it very useful, give it a try. Regards Steve
  4. Try looking on here: http://www.motorola.com/fr/ under assistance there might be some indication about service centres. Steve
  5. Thanks I will. I used to drive past their showroom each day a few years ago on the way to work... but I changed jobs and haven't been that way for a while... time me thinks for a visit! Any excuse!! Thanks Steve
  6. Any body had any experience of registering a Caterham 7 in France? It would be a LHD one, either shipped over from UK or bought in Europe..  I guess it would follow all the usual procedures, I'm just wondering which is the easiest route, one delivered in bits... or a completed car (used) Thanks Steve
  7. It's very probable that those channels might have changed frequency, take a look at: http://www.lyngsat.com/ and you will be able to check the settings on your receiver compared to what the satellite is transmitting. On a Sky Digibox, the settings are changed automatically, on  a non-digi box you have to make the changes yourself. Steve
  8. Hi First of all I've never tried this... but it might be possible to get both satellites on the same dish with out moving it, by mounting a second LNB, offset from the other one. I would look at some of the satellite shops to see if such an arrangement is available. The two satellites are very close bearing wise, but it will be a compromise in not having too big a dish (narrow beam width) and not going too small (lower gain) Steve
