  1. Happy Camping-Car Hols wooly..... We may meet up on a campsite somewhere in the future [:D]

You'll find me in an Adria Coral 760 - Also a Fiat - good engines - ignore the jibes, they are only jealous [;-)]

Enjoy and [B][B][B] - Oh No I forgot, you're not allowed to have them ....

  2. SD - The piece you lifted from the Pensions website about claiming over the phone..... Well I tried that last week and was told they no longer accept details over the phone, the form has to be filled in and posted off to Fitzroy House... When I asked why the on-line help facilities were not up to to date, I got a very frosty "Nothing to do with this departement" answer. [8-)]

[quote user="Cendrillon"] All I ask is to be able to eat my meal without cigarette smoke being constantly puffed across my food and the table where I am sitting.

    Eat inside then.

    Or stay at home....

Presumably that's what you did when smoking was freely allowed in all public places, including the workplace and the top deck of the bus   [Www]  (comment from a non-smoker)

  4. "By the by: is the iPod Touch really as good as it sounds, or has anyone found problems? It seems a lot of money, appears wonderful but would be an expensive error if not good. Is anyone allowed to tell me, or is it breaking the rules of the forum? If so, then I apologise in advance."

Don't know whether this comment will help or not, but a few months ago, we decided it was time for Ipods... We bought 2  Ipod Classics 80Gb (used) from Ebay uk. Lots of these young things with plenty of disposable income are upgrading to the touch/latest  versions and are selling their old ones. Some real good bargains to be had, and 80Gb holds a massive amount of music and film. Really pleased with the purchases and a lot less expensive than the latest technology, so it may be worth considering

  5. I did my first tax return last year and found all my information on this forum. The best starting point is Cat's FAQ here http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/1196188/ShowPost.aspx - Brilliant piece of overall advice [:)]

As for the Connexion's advice - my suggestion - The Bin !!

I also know some who don't fill in tax returns here, leaving everything in the UK system, but all I can say is we are definitely better off in the French system...

    Good Luck

  6. Hi Tuppence - Yes mine went down last night about 9.00pm and didn't reappear until this morning..... It's a bit up and down today. I've got to the stage where I may consider changing provider. To be honest I'm surprised at myself for putting up with this for so long. The only thing is, that every time I think enough is enough, I seem to get my head stuck in the sand and hope it will all turn out okay in the end [8-)] Laid back retirement has definitely calmed my hot Irish temper [:D][:D]
  7. Don't know about Polio, but tetanus is every 10 years. I had mine not long ago - you can either get it separately or have it combined with your flu jab
  8. Last year I gave the man at the tax office my A4 sheet of paper listing all UK Bank accounts - he then put a "X" in the "UU" box... so it must be and "and"

What I do find interesting, is you say list names/addresses/type of accounts etc, but No account sort codes or numbers. I has just got all my stuff ready to take to tax office next week, but after reading this I am about to take account numbers off my A4 sheet. You made me think, an A4 sheet with all my details may not be such a good idea.

And the answer was posted five minutes before you made that post.

ITS AN EXPLANATORY NOTE, unfortunately it seems in French[:'(],

A search using 2041K would have found this amongst other threads about 2041 notes

Thanks for your reply Ron... Obviously my 'search" skills were a bit off yesterday [:$]

The overlap with your reply and my reply to Parsnips - I must have been on a go slow at the time [:)]

Anyway thank you both for the replies

    Hi,
2042K is your tax declaration , on which the tax office has entered any information which they already have on your circumstances and income; You now have to check and if necessary, correct what they have pre-printed , and give details of any income which is not already entered on the form.

    I know what a 2042-K form is......

    It was a 2041-K I was questioning
