Hi Cathy! Thanks for your reply. Renting is definately an option for us and is probably the "safest" way to do the move; i.e. not spending all that money on Notaires and taxes only to spend it all again when we've found THE school! If only someone could point us in the direction of a good school and we could start renting something within a few miles radius - then if we're happy with the school after a few months we can start to look for something permanently. Hi, We are considering a move to The Loire Valley in 2007/08 with our 6 & 8 year old daughters. Our MAIN priority is a very good school where the children can develop bi-lingually to a high standard of education. The school doesn't need to be an "international" school. We are visiting Allonnes (near Saumur) next Friday for 2 weeks with a plan of looking at properties and areas around the region. However, this is not really how we would like to do the search, i.e. we would like to find the school and THEN find the house near the school. Thus far, I have asked the "which schools" question to an abundance of estate agencies and they always seem to avoid the question! How does one go about finding the best schools in a particular area? Can anyone recommend a good school in The Loire Valley? Thanks! Shands
