I have been unable to buy some vanities of junipers and cotoneasters from my local garden centres in Cahors. Does anyone know of any companies where you can order plants “on line” for delivery in the Lot. Thanks

I am considering applying top soil to my garden to improve it's fertiltiy. I am not sure if it will be too expensive to cove the whole area -1 acre. Can any one give a guide to how much I will have to pay for top soil per cubic metre. Thanks

The builders have just finished building our new house and have left rest of the plot in a mess. The ground is very uneven where they have moved soil for the building work. The first thing I need to do to start building a garden is to smooth the soil in order to sow a lawn. I have spoken to a local company who can do this work for me. They would flatten/smooth the ground with a JCB and then sow the lawn. I have been quoted around 3000€ for this work. The area is about 1000 sq metres (1/4 acre). I want to use local firms but I am having difficulty in getting a second quote. As I have no experience of costs for this type of work is anyone able to comment whether this devis is reasonable. Comments and advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a hosue in the Lot for which I am currently only there for 6-8 weeks per year. I have been looking for the best way to have internet access for these times. ADSL via the phone is technically poosible in my area. However this is very messy and expensive to keep switching it on and off. Is there any internet accces avaible via satellite? Thanks, Jim

There is a small sycamore tree growing just inside my neighbours garden. The trunk actually touches the fence between our two properties. The main drain for the village runs under my garden almost under this tree. I am concerned that the roots of this tree may in future damage this drain. I will speak to my neighbour about this situation. But before this can anyone explain the legal situation. A)I guess I have the right to prune the branches onto my land? B) Are there any restrictions such that neighbours cannot plant trees/shrubs with a certain distance of the neighbours land? Thanks

I have found several suppliers who manufacture high quality wood frame and canvas surround gazebos in the UK. I am unable to locate any such suppliers in France. Any help would be appreciated.
