Hi I currently own a chambres d'hotes and are looking to return to the UK.  At present we are trying to sell our property and  looking for some clarification on capital gains (PLU VALUE) something our accountant does not seem to understand!  The question I pose is  - now that our season has ended  and we appear (fingers crossed) to have a buyer would it be beneficial to ourselves to close the company (louer en meuble professional) as of 30th Sept and delcare the property as a main residence?  We have been operating for 3 years if this helps?   I do realise I will have to pay some tax! Does anyone have any thoughts?  Thanks alot.

Hi there   I am really not technically minded so bear with me.  I am trying to access all data and photos but can't.  Clicked on "start button and administator comes up with  - pictures, documents, my documents but when I click on them nothing happens.  I am panicing - has some thing awful happened?   All advice gratefully recieved. Can anyone suggest somewhere for a weekend away for myself and husband and our 3 year old. Just need a change of scenery for a couple of days. We live in La Rochelle and would like somewhere maximum 3 hours drive away.   Needs to have a variety of things to do esp if the weather is not so good.   We have not long lived in la Rochelle and only explored the immediate surrounding area! PM's of suggested accommodation would be much appreciated. Do not wish for something rural but does not have to be in the hussle and bustle of a city or town.     Thanks

Can anyone recommend an agent for selling my chambres d'hotes - near la rochelle.  I appreciate there are loads out there but without sounding too snooty they seem to be selling commercial properties of alot lower value than ours.  3 valuations have all come in around the same mark - over 1 million euors.  The 3 agents  we have seen seem good but anyones experience in this matter would be appreciated.  Many thanks

Maybe a silly question but being in my 50's am not "up to speed" with these things!  We bought a tv here in france 2 years ago but no longer need (my husband upgraded!) and thinking of giving to my daughter in england - would it work? I would ask my husband but I don't want him to know my plans for it.....its only gathering dust in the garage! Thanks
