Well done Mr Tusk. The EU have remained very patient with UKs dilly falling!
-
Just an update: they replied with what I thought, just don't put her on the tax forms as she will be doing her own this year.As for the prelevement de source, they didn't answer that one.

In 11 years living in the Dordogne we've never seen them. Are they really worth a visit?Hoddy we have a few neighbours too, but they're all working and busy so I rarely see them.If I died no one would know!

I don't see enough French speaking people nearly enough to speak French here in France or English people to speak English for that matter. But when I go back to uk I have the urge to speak French all the time! How odd.

You are gems! I've sent a PM to Sue Thank you so much

Yes probably best. I'll have to do a Google translation though, which often isn't great.
mogs said : re the prelevement de source, if you don't have French employment, how will it work?No different to how it has been before .. we will just complete the normal forms at the normal time.
So do we make a payment once a month based on income? Should we start this now?

Thanks Sue and Mint, I'll have a look tomorrow.

Basically we were allowed to offset our daughter at Uni with the unjustifiable allowance. In July 2018 she finished her masters (with a great pass) and so returned home. She became independent and found a flat so moved out.How do we mark the change on the impot form for the last tax year?online there is a box to tick for change of situation, but all I can see is for marriage, divorce, new birth, so nothing that meets our situation.Any suggestions please how to let them know. I did email them last year and their reply said to wait until this year.
Hello, I've not been on the forum for ages. Not sure if it's appropriate under 'Health' but I've been thinking about funerals as my husband is nearing the end of his life.Someone suggested a nationwide company that will arrange everything 'after one phone call' when the time comes and save me the stress of organising a funeral when very upset. I found the website and was sent a devi. They've now said someone can come to the house. (I was going there.)I don't want to seem mercenary but also don't want a hard sell and have no idea of the average cost of a funeral: cremation, no religious official, collect from home (I'm hoping I can keep him out of hospital), ashes returned to me - probably means collecting them. I've heard there are some pretty unscrupulous funeral directors out there: charging twice for things, or for things they haven't done. Any thoughts?
Blodwyn, I can't add anything useful but just want to say I feel for you at such a difficult time. I hope you have enough help and support in the coming days/weeks. Bless you xx

Does anyone know if it to be repeated? My tv guide via humax is very slow

I take one of the vials every month in winter, usually from October to April. The dose is mega, 100,000 I think (if memory serves me right).I didn't think it was possible to overdose on Vit D as the body naturally gets rid of any not needed? To answer Mint's question, I do not feel any less tired while taking it and I can't blame it on my cancer treatment as that was 10 years ago. Sometimes a lack of Vit B9 (folic acid) can also cause tiredness so I usually take a 5 mg supplement of this as well.

Sorry to hear about your daughter and hope shes ok.We had a house fire in 2010. Lost everything except 2 dogs and 2 of 3 cats. I lit the wood burner late afternoon and within an hour the entire house was in flames. The pompiers took 45 mins to arrive by which time it was too late. No reason why, except something decided to go wrong within the chimney. Fortunately we had good insurance.I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, it's awful to lose personal memories like photos and jewellery. Some things can never be replaced. At least my daughter and 4 animals survived, albeit with the clothes we ran out of the house in.

I hope she makes a speedy recovery from surgery. My sister had a hip replacement a couple of years ago. She lives by herself and was unable to do things like bending down so getting dressed was difficult and she learned to use a grabber tool which she found invaluable for feeding her cat lol.Mrs G has your help so I'm sure she will do nicely. Good wishes to you both.

Unfortunately, we are due to off the ferry at le Havre on Saturday morning. It could be a long day and long drive back home in the Dordogne. With two 11 month old puppies too. BEAM ME UP SCOTTIE. ??
This may sound a silly question but if you don't want her to have any puppies, why not have her spayed?I get sick of folk round here who don't spay or castrate their cats and we then end up with stray kittens arriving chez nous.
As I explained before, we wanted to spay her before her season but our vet advised against and to wait until January so as to let her have one season. The reason for this is because spaying too early can cause incontinence. We know this can happen as our other female who died last year was spayed right at the end of her bleeding and she ended up being on hormonal pills for the rest of her life.Believe me we have 4 cats and 2 dogs, all our animals are neutred/castrated etc. and she will be done too

I spoke to our vet this morning. Dog is booked in for a scan in 3 weeks. Options offered if pregnant : 2 injections to cause termination, allow her to have puppies or to spay removing anything and everything.Hopefully none of these options will be necessary.
Wait and see or talk to the vet. Simples.NB X labs are lovely. We have one from a dogs home. Much better than the "real" thing.
She is a rescue dog too, same age estimated as our chocolate lab puppy, we felt he needed another dog to play with and they've been good playmates. We wanted to spay her before her season but our vet advised against. They are both lovely dog's, each different in their own way but we are so lucky to have a super lovely X rescue.

She is a x lab aged 11 months. Her first season started (bleeding) 4 weeks ago. She finished bleeding a week ago. She's been contained in our garden for this time, except today, she managed to somehow escape for a bit less than an hour. When we went searching for her she returned, we don't know how she escaped. My worry is during the lapse she may have mated. We don't want pups so what can we do?

I had some discussions with my MT about 4 years ago for an infusion called pralia or Denosumab. It wasn't available then on securite sociale, but maybe now it is. I had suffered many rib fractures they think as a result of radiotherapy. I often felt a rib pop when just leaning forward. So spontaneous fractures as a result of no trauma.I did have a perfusion of something but can't remember what it was. Fortunately with the help of a mega dose of vit b3 every other month, I seem to have remained ok. I have osteoperenia but have a dexa scan every year, and have been stable. All the best to your wife

Thanks Sue for posting that link. How awful for the cub. Let's hope she goes onto a good permanent home.
