Hi We are looking for a removal van too, we move out in April to the Limoge area from Devon, did you manage to find someone? If so can you tell me who you are using??

Hi and a Happy New Year to you too! Hold on to that dream, we did and are almost there! We bought some land a couple of years ago and are now having a house built, we should be ready to move in around April. In the last year we have been having French classes which have helped us  especially with our builder who only speaks French but we have a great agent who has helped us enormously. You should look in to travelling to different areas this year and find an area that you like, we are  moving to the Charante area as we have friends there, and my husband can fly to Paris from Limoge as he works there during the week. Thanks everyone for your input.. the pool is for our own use as we will be living permanently in France, we will be in the Charante region, only 20 mins from Limoge airport.  I have seen the pools with the permanent covers (semi circle shape) that can slide over in the summer and also means you can use all year round. I am not a confident swimmer so would not swim in a lake, but a pool would be great. We were thinking that it would cost us roughly £20,000.00. so will have to budget for it. Will take on board what everyone has said.

Hi all I would like a swimming pool in our soon to be "new" property, but hubby thinks it might be a tad expensive!! And maybe should wait a year or two before adding one...any thoughts on this and how much we can expect to pay for one.

Hi We move to France next year when our house is built, we have sold our business and are renting in England at the moment, we were approached by someone who wanted us to house sit for them in France (through mutual friends) but they have actually managed to sell their property, this gave us the idea that there may be other people in similar circumstances and we may be able to help each other, we could look after and maintain your property in exchange for us living there, we could also look after any animals that you may have or any gites that need cleaning, repair etc... Our house will be ready March next year (fingers crossed) and is in the Charente area.  We do  not mind where we house sit as long as there are good transport links (plane, train) to Paris as my husband works in Paris  2 days a week.

Hi We are travelling down from St Malo and are looking to explore the Atlantic coast areas, I have searched on the internet (and will continue to do so) for a gite (preferably with pool) that is available to rent from 24/25th August for 5 nights, we don't mind being slightly inland (no more than 30 mins driving time) if anyone can recommend somewhere or a site I might not have found yet, I would appreciate it. Kind regards Debbie PS - Some of you may remember me, we are having a house built in Le Sterpe (nr confolens) things are going slowly - which is usual for France :o) - holidays etc... but came over last week to see the notaire and everything has gone through ok for our french mortgage, so hopefully this time next year we will be living there permanently! Had a great meal in the only restaurant in the village and it was fab!!

We are looking to hire a motor home/camper van for August, does anyone know of anyone who has one to hire privately? We will be in the Charente near to Confolens for 2 weeks at the end of August visiting friends who live there, but want to do some touring while there and thought maybe a motor home would be a good way of travelling any advice gratefully received Regards Debbie

Hi, we are looking to hire a motor home whilst in France this summer (2 weeks) arriving in Caen, does anyone have any information on where we can hire from? We will be travelling to Limoge to visit friends and also to see how our "new" house is as it is starting to be built next week :o) If anyone can recommend where we can find a hire company from with motor homes or has one they may want to hire to us please let me know.
