  1. I've got my E106 and have all my healthcare costs covered 100% by the state but if I want to go back to the UK to work for a few months how does that affect me?  Can I do this and then come back to France and work? Can't seem to find a thread that answers the question so apologies if this has been asked a few times before. Thanks
  2. Thanks Mini-Mum! Well I've spoken to the Embassy again and they've said that the Mairie 'may' require it and just to ask.  Once I've got all my bits together I will take what I have down there and ask him if he needs this other form and get them to check everything is in order and then hopefully that's it!  She said sometimes they just marry you and get anything else they need off you after you're married, don't want to chance it though :-) Thanks again!
  3. Hiya, I'll be starting on Rebif next month...can't wait.  Have the nurse coming to show me how to use the kit so I don't stab myself somewhere I shouldn't!  I was told by my neurologist in Purpan Hospital, Toulouse the costings of treatment.  I wanted to start treatment straight away and was prepared to maybe pay whilst waiting for my paperwork to go through...thought twice after that!
  4. Hi Val, Thanks so much for that.  We've got all the paperwork sorted (waiting for birth certificate translations) except for the certificat de coutume which no one has mentioned to us, including the Embassy...thank God I came here!!! Do you know how long it takes to get this sorted and if it's necessary to send original birth certificates & passports.  Is a bit difficult now with going back and forth to the UK! Thanks again for your help.

    E106....now what?

Well we're not married so that might pose a problem!  We're getting married in September though so maybe I'll hold out!
  6. I myself have just been diagnosed with MS and the people here have been nothing but helpful.  Just in the process of sorting out paperwork as it's one of the 30 chronic illnesses covered 100% by the state...phew!  Apparently it costs 15,000 euro/year for one persons treatment.  You will need to get top up insurance to conver any hospital stays though...these can be quite costly as I've just found out! Good luck!

    E106....now what?

Thanks everyone.  I myself am not working here as yet so am not registered as a business in any way.  My partner is!  I've been diagnosed whilst in France so I don't think the E121 applies to me? Thanks again.
  9. Morning all, I've had my E106 form through, have taken it to the CPAM and have had my attestation through....now what happens?  Do I get a Carte Vitale?  The form runs out in January 2008...what happens then?  I'm about to start treatment (covered 100% by the state) so am looking to find out what happens when the E106 runs out! Many thanks.
  10. Thanks for that.  Have contacted the Embassy as it mentions something about a 'certificat de coutume'.  They said if the Mairie hasn't asked for it they probably don't want it, result.  Medicals all done, just waiting for translation of birth certificates....fingers crossed. Thanks again!
  11. Oh God I hope we don't have that problem! We've just been asked for the usual paperwork with no mention of the British Embassy but just an official translation of birth certificates! Better take everything down in the next few weeks to be checked then.... Thanks!
  12. Hi all, We are getting married here in France in September and I'm trying to find out what the process is in terms of the actual ceremony.  We don't speak much French but is the ceremony like it is in the UK with all the 'I do's' etc...do we need to participate as such or is it a paperwork exercise? Do we need a translator?! Many thanks!
  13. 14. I know that some people register and some don't but if you don't, can you take out liability insurance to cover you in case of accidents?  Ultimately we will register but in the meantime we want to make sure we're covered.  Has anyone done this?
  15. Thanks everyone, that's what I thought.  Makes it easier all I round I think. Thanks again!
  16. Hi all, I just wanted a bit of advice on giving out door keys to guests.  I've heard that some Chambres d'Hotes owners obviously give them their room key but don't give them a front door key....is this wise?
