  1. Thanks for that.... looks like just what I need.  The query from BDF is fairly clear so I should be able to use that format to hit the points which they are interested in, i.e. exterior facade, roof , windows etc.
  2. Renovating a remise near Capestang.  Query from Batiment de France re the Permit de Construire.... they are looking for a 'Descriptif des materiaux employes', i.e.  a materials list.  Has anyone had to submit one of these?  What needs to be included?  A specimen of the format would be useful.
  3.     Does anyone know any manufacturers/dealers for roof windows or skylights in the south east area (34 etc)?  I can get to plenty of Velux and other sources, doing the perspex domes and retro upvc framed skylights but I need a flush, walk-on type for the middle of a roof terrace.  I can get plenty of good sources in UK, vision glass, national dome light company, anglia glass etc, but can't source what I need in France.  (Its bound to be there but I just can't find it!)
  4. You're a life-saver, Clair.  That was easy and pain-free.  I'm now E90 lighter but its a weight off my mind.  I'll have to watch the speed limits in future.  Thanks.
  5. Just got one myself, via the kind people at Avis who took 14 days to process it before sending it on to me, so its now beyond the 15 days for the E90 'discount'.  I'm inclined just to pay the 90 and see what happens.  Any thoughts?  The document is a photocopy of the original so it doesn't have the payment advice that should be on the reverse.  You mention paying online.... I've examined the website indicated on the document (www.securiteroutiere.gouv.fr) and can't find anywhere that I can do this.  Can I send a sterling cheque?  Any advice welcome.
  6. Thanks, Nick.  That helps.  I'll be trying to get an introduction to the Mairie when I'm over in a couple of weeks so I can broach some of these issues then, but I'd like to be prepared.   I'm not sure if the remise has previously  been residential. Upper floors are derelict  and ground floor has cattle feeders attached to the walls.  Its also got a roman well in the ground floor - I don't know if that's an indication of previous residence! Thanks anyway Bish
  7. We're proposing to buy a small village house in Herault, fully renovated, but with an adjoining remise which will potentially double the space when renovated.  Two questions..... There is an area of flat roof adjoining the main bedroom which we intend to convert to a small terrace.  How do I obtain planning permission to do this, and can I apply for this before completion? The ground floor of the remise is currently used as storage and is accessed by an internal door.  What permissions will be required to undertake the full renovation of the remise?  This is a village setting with adjoining buildings on both sides.  Are we talking about a CU?
