Thanks for the advice!  We have purchased a load of the sonic devices and a tonne of mothballs, but, we are still getting the Loirs (doormice) happily playing inside our electric cupboard and one of the upstairs bedrooms.  They even have the cheek to poo right next to the sonic device in the cupboards! I don't suppose you have any other suggestions that may help us???   C&S

Thanks for the comments!  We've looked at some of the sonic devices, but as we have no actual roof space/attic (meaning the roof space is a small area between the tiles and the interior ceiling) we are not sure if the signal strength would work by just placing them in the bedrooms??? As for a Cat......... I don't think the dog would be too imperssed! C&S

To start with, yes we live in a big old house in the middle of the forest, so we can obviously expect to get the odd animal or ten!  But, we are currently having problems with doormice (Loirs) and a few rats, which are getting in to the roof area and finding their way in to cupboards/wardrobes via electric conduits, etc.  We have put down the usual poisons and traps but they dont seem to be working? Can anybody suggest any remedies for this problem???

Could anyone recomend any nice/good restaurants in the Luberon area? (that do not involve a bank loan when the bill arrives!) We have tried several restaurants such as the Veranda (Menerbes), the Bergerie (Maubec), several in Isle sur Sourge, etc but are looking for somewhere new? C&S

Hi, We are looking for some gates for the property where we live (Menerbes (84)). Does anyone know where or if we can find a supplier who can make or obtain 'typical British field gates', the ones that you would see on entrances to farmers fields etc.? (yeah, I know - why British gates when you live in France, you may ask? Well, simply because our boss is an idiot!) C&S

Bonjour, tout le monde! We are a fairly young couple who have been living and working in a place called Menerbes (Luberon) for a while now.  We have been living/ working  in various regions of France for several years now but are relatively new to this area and whilst we love the relaxed (and often very complicated) Provencal way of life, we are wondering what people do around here once they have done the normal tourist stuff (old villages, markets, walks, etc)??? We are drinking lots of wine - but it's just not enough!  C&S
