  1. This is a bit of a strange one, but we have just bought a house in 09 at which they currently use Orange ADSL via Livebox (non-dégroupé). We are collecting the keys at the end of the month and spending a couple of months down there, but I will need Internet access from the minute that we move in, in order to carry on running the business. Ideally, I am wanting to go with Free.fr as they can offer a fixed IP address for free (necessary for my husband's work), but they advise that we cannot apply for the package until the line has been vacated by the current inhabitants and then it will be 10 days-3 weeks before the service is live. Is this really the case?! If so, has anybody got any experience of dial up ADSL ? Any recommendations? We will want to be going wireless. This would at least tide us over until the Free account is activated.
  2. Thanks for that - I have seen his name mentioned on several threads. Does his practice have a website? Or do you have an email address?
  3. I am interested to hear from anybody who has the above business scenario and to have details of their accountant! I run a UK Ltd Co.which is 100% internet-based and through which 100% of the revenue is taken in sterling by credit card through an online payment system. It is a service business rather than a shop and can be run from anywhere there is an internet connection. We are looking to move to France by the end of the year but obviously need to speak to an expert who can help guide us as to the most tax efficient way to run the business while we are over there. Thanks in advance.
  4. I have PMd you with the contact details for an accountant that I have found who may be able to advise you.
  5. I will shortly be in the same boat. I understand that you will have to pay 11% social charges against your dividend income (unearned income). Are there any other shareholders of the Ltd company that will remain and work in the UK are are you 'it'? If the latter, there may be even more onerous tax demands on the Ltd company, judging from the most recent info that I have received
  6. To Helen and Jawjb Looks like the Ariege is the 'région de choix' at the moment! We are in the process of buying a little mountain house and barn on the hills above Massat and hope to be signing the acte de vente early June. Fantastic unspoilt area with more sports on your doorstep than you can shake a stick at! Can't wait to move out there permanently.
