We are not experts on trees. One of our oak trees has been "attacked" by some sort of creature that bores small (2cm) holes through the bark. The area round the holes and base is covered with a fine sawdust. Occasionally see large bees in the vicinity - only a few though. Located in the far SW Any suggestions would be welcome.   Thanks Saffron

Hello Any suggestions please re who to use for putty jobs! We decided to repaint all our windows and when we were "prepping" we found that most need new putty. This is definitely outside our modest range of skills. Somebody suggested taking them to the quinccaillerie which sells glass. One test window came back less than satisfactory - very amateurish and uneven. We don't want to ask a painter since we are doing the actual painting ourselves! Living in the far SW north of Pau - so any suggestions for the general vicinity would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Saffron

My parents have owned their house in France for 12 years and recently discovered that its value has trebled. They want to use this to generate some cash as a backup in their old age. They're very against the mortgage/loan route. One option is an "equity release" type scheme. Has anybody come across a French equivalent? Thanks Saffron

Hello Friends (French residents) have the opportunity of earning income in France either: 1. Salaried employment for 1 partner. In addition the generation of micro-enterprise income to benefit both partners. or 2. All income (if possible) to be put through the micro-enterprise. Assuming all Contributions and Taxes are paid in France and this is the only income. Any ideas of the benefits and negatives? Many thanks Saffron
