  1. Hi wendyh, Our E106 has just lapsed. It's obligatory to join the CMU if you live in France (go to your local CPAM office)the cost of which will vary due to your own personnal circumstances, this gives up to 70% reimbursement of health care costs. You can get a top up policy from lots of places, we find BIBA(british Insurance brokers of Aquitane) insurance services are excellent and very helpful for all sorts of insurance (05 53 01 13 84). We can vouch for the health care service in France as I recently had to have my appendinot sure if thats spelt right!) removed! We are still a little confused however, as to how the CMU is worked out but if we find out - we'll let you know.

    CMU

We are slightly confused, so anyone who can help would be so welcome. Our E106 is running out, so we have been to the local CPAM office to find out about contributions to CMU, etc. We understood previously about threshholds, and as we are a married couple(husband retired early) with two small childen, believed we would get the higher 88200ffr threshold taken into account. However, the CMU officer told us that we are eligible for 43200ffr, which is the same for everyone in France. Is this right? as it makes our premiums more expensive than we thought, and although we are well aware of the high quality service we get and we don't begrudge paying, we do begrudge paying too much!! Thanks everyone.
