2.
Close PD, 156mph, from memory.........................it's enough...............[:)]
....its never enough.... ...and anything over 190kg with more than 1 seat  is a car - not a bike
3. I am looking for recommendations for a place to get a good evening meal and stay 1 night off the A26 roughly between St Omer and Arras (eg 1 hour from Calais). I would like to find somewhere nice as it would be a regular stopover requirement. Thanks, Bob W.
4.
Where are you in Germany Bob?
Just south of Frankfurt during the week, Alsace on weekends and holidays.
5. Could anyone clarify the law on owning and/or purchasing antique firearmes - specifically pre-WW2 shotguns (not black powder)? As I understand the French categories: 1st and 4th categories = pistols, permit required through TIR club membership 5th category = hunting rifles and shotguns, hunting license required. 7th category = airguns, no permit 8th category = black powder, not sure what permit applies Do antiques fall into the respective category? I ask because I used to restore/repair old/broken shotguns which usually entails buying selling through a dealer. Cheers Bob W.
6.
OK Bob, you have us guessing. 152 bhp, my first guess is a BMW K1200GT. Am I close?
Ducati 998s modified for track with 54mm pipes, ECU, airbox and and intakes - dyno'd at 152 at the rear wheel. I have a collection of exhausts etc to let me do road outings, and a very friendly TUV (German MOT) guy
7. Was wondering if anyone ever heads to or lives in the area? First biking season there and the roads are fantastic. Will also shortly be checking out the track day options at Anneau du Rhin near Colmar. Keeping the bike on its German registration as it makes 152bhp.....as I live and work over the border in Germany during the week I don't think I am doing anything illegal as I am technically just visiting. Cheers Bob
8. Are you required to legally register your residency status in France, as is the case in Germany? I am now living roughly 40% in France and see it as my "home" when not at work, but I have no taxable income in France. Thanks in advance for any advice.
9. Thanks for the tip - I noticed the map did not work, so I will watch for it coming back online! Rgds Bob
10. Hi Pierre, This will be my first winter so I cannot say first hand, however I have checked into this with neighbours as my main sport is cross country skiing. The weather is 8-10 degrees at the moment, so no snow for a while.  La Bresse, Lac Blanc and Gerardmer/Xonrupt Longemer have the best alpine skiing facilities, but get very busy around school holidays I am told. http://www.skieur.info/vosges/ this link should give you all the info you need and the snow status. Regards Bob
11. Hi, Just found this forum recently and it has proved a great source of information. Having bought a house in the Vosges area in September I have not met a single other Brit expat, are there any around? If anyone needs local info let me know if I can help. Cheers Bob W.
