You'll have to scan and post it to a file hosting site like www.filedropper.com for instance then post the link.If you were French resident at the time then you should be aware that by selling a UK regged car you broke the law and it's completely feasible that the buyer never registered it and has used the cover of the UK plates to committed a string of offences in it and now they have tracked it back to via DVLA to lay them at your door.A warning to anybody else thinking of selling a UK regged car in France !

Still trying to figure out what I'm going to do with all those home made threepenny pieces
-
On second though regardless of box it's the movies and sports subscription which demands the marrying of the card, base packages such as I have (I spit on ALL sport !) do not.
-
What type of Sky box did you have ?I ask because as I recall pre Sky+ there was no need to 'marry' a card - although you could - but with Sky+ you had to 'marry' the card in order to use the record function.

If ever in doubt log into Paypal and check for messages or alerts, any legitimate communications will be there.

That you clicked on the link suggests that you may not have learnt enough [:(]
I really cannot believe they are giving unlimited calls to French landlines and mobiles for a year
Does seem extraordinary and a pretty compelling hook to get folk to switch to Bouygues so you'd think it would be advertised more prominently.Hope you have read it right then.
Given the gîte does not have wifi, I am betting there is no reliable mobile signal either.
Have you dusted off your crystal ball again or did I miss where the OP said he was staying in a Gite ?Any reason it can't just be somebody's holiday gaffe where the number and length of visits doesn't warrant an ISP contract ?Or to blow your other baseless supposition out of the water it could be that 3 or 4g coverage is excellent again negating the need for an ISP for short or irregular occupation ?

In such circumstances I'd arrange for an immediate transfer from my UK bank to a friends account and for them to then give me the equivalent in Euros, UK bank to UK bank that can be done on line in a matter of minutes. Not suggesting otherwise but that of course assumes that funds are available in UK.
25GB of data on the €2 Freemobile sim
I think you've misread that !
-
Same here Norman, not interested at all even in the intensive care room I spent 5 nights in a couple of months back. Also, unlike in the UK, thay don't throw blue fits if chargers etc. aren't festooned with feckin useless 'safety tested' stickers !

Best to select a phone first then you can choose the correct SIM for it when you decide on a service provider. There are only 3 sizes in common use BTW, std (sometimes called mini), micro, and nano and sometimes with the latter you have to cut it out of a micro card yourself !Most providers will have base deals for a phone plus SIM, Lefrenchmobile who I use stand out slightly in that your credit ever expires, they also run a fully english web site if that's important to you. It's very easy to buy a data package for hospital stays, particularly unplanned ones !They do expire after 30 days (or when you've used up the amount you bought of course) but that doesn't affect your call credit.

Here's a question to chew on:If not willing to give in death should you be disqualified from receiving in life ?
In France we are all donors unless we opt out, I think.
True since Jan 2017 (presumed consent which you can opt out of) however I thought they wouldn't even entertain our blood if we'd been in the UK for half an hour sometime between 1980 and 1996 due to alleged risk of CJD and surely by definition that must rule out organs donation or harvesting, except perhaps corneas. It's not as if France escaped CJD but unlike the UK where they put videos of football field size pyres of burning carcasses on prime time TV every night the French kept it quiet and 'disappeared' the evidence (=JCB disease!) so that doesn't count. For my part (no pun intended) when I'm gone they can have what they want although as per above and given abuse and age related deterioration I doubt that would amount to much.

Personally I consider my 'doings' to be 5 star top quality and I'd expect a buyer to pay me not to dispose of them [Www]
-
'have to' have it emptied ?I'm not aware of any legal obligation for sellers to do that so is it written it the compromis ?

Comment from one driver "We also have an exception when it comes to retirement. We don't retire five years early, we have a five-year paid holiday before retirement"Leaving aside the rationale for early retirement which was rooted in the days of the steam railways so probably predates them all anyway, other than semantically and possibly financially can somebody explain to me the practical difference between retirement and a 5 year paid holiday before it ?If those are the sort of arguments they base their case on then they all want sacking now, plenty of Eastern European drivers willing to take their place and WORK for a living.

Diesel almost indefinitely, petrol for as long as you'd practically want to hold a stock of it I'd say.The more 'E' sh1te in it the more likely it is to go off (or so it's claimed) but kept well sealed I still think you'd be counting in low years rather than weeks or months. You don't want to get our American cousins going on the subject though because you wouldn't believe the extraordinary lengths some of them go to just to put a car to bed for a few weeks or months over the Winter and the 'gas going off' seems to head the list almost every time with some believing it will happen over that sort of period.Challenge them to define 'going off' is usually a fun game though always remembering that it's the nation which not only elected Trump but have allowed him to survive even this long !
Cable loss is quite irrelevant
I guess that statement says it all really [blink]
-
Might not be the cheapest option but using top quality coax will potentially out perform an increase in dish size whilst avoiding the pitfalls mentioned.Reducing cable loss by 3dB is roughly equivalent to going from an 80 cm dish to 120cm !

Thanks for that.It was very quick and easy - and FREE - to get the French IDP's so I guess keeping those up to date is probably the simplest option, they are valid for 3 years.
-
We obtained them for a trip to OZ last year but neither the camper van or hire car companies were interested in them our French licences were good enough on their own.Were/are they actually needed in NZ ?Post Brexit it's entirely possible that we could be going back to UK licences !

I'd say this being an extended deadline is something highly relevant as it sounds now like the sellers were getting impatient with the delay and put it on you to force you to put up or shut up because with a compromis in place they are stuck with you and can't try to sell elsewhere. As I see it now then the expired second deadline and your non performance gives the sellers the right to withdraw but doing so does not necessarily absolve you from forfeiture of your deposit if you do not provide proof of a mortgage refusal and best effort to secure one.
