I've never ever had a spare checked either in UK or in France. If you read the relevant EU directive it says that tyres should be of the same brand and construction which is not the same as saying identical.AFAIK CT stations check tyre pressures to ensure that they are equal per axle and in a range such that they don't skew the damper shaker test.

The maximum current draw in a circuit is determined by the voltage and the resistance of the load, it's simple Ohms law where I = V/R and high resistance contacts in the circuit can only ever reduce that never increase it.The heat generated by your crap plug is probably what was taking the fuses out it certainly won't have been excess current.

I said I sometimes do 3000 in a month, a week long trip down to Spain can be 2000 by the time I'm finished and chuck in the odd week long sortie and it's not hard to reach that. Was a time in UK when I was routinely doing 24k per year and one time I did 44k.Of the 350k on the clock 260k odd are mine, crank is still stock and only one 20 thou rebore at about 100k.Touch wood in all that time out of the very few minor breakdowns I've had I've not once had a problem which I wasn't able to fix myself on the spot and be on my way and complete my journey. [:D]Speedo is spot on BTW [:P]

I was talking about my MGB, I think the Skoda is going to need rather more than it's 13 years to be awarded the accolade of 'classic' and I'm quite fastidious about using the recommended VW 505.01 oil in that, 290k km and counting. The other two liquids you should never mix are DOT3/4/5 brake fluid and DOT5 silicone.

As Dave says contaminated oil can eat away at white metal bearings while the car stands idle.I change mine every 3000 miles - which I sometimes do in a month - and I use the cheapest 20w50 I can find, anything more is a complete waste of money !Pushing to see the speedo trip over to 400,000, about 50k to go [:D]
He did make the point that the problems were mainly with electronics and that new cars were rushed to market without these being tested adequately. Skoda does not use such advanced systems
As a taxi drive he of course has all the requisite qualifications to make such observations [blink].

Seems pretty conclusive this sorry site is even more crap with Chrome than it normally is.

More likely a Safari issue would be my guess, have you tried a different browser ?

Two of my saddest moments during my time in France were learning of Coops terrible accident and subsequent untimely passing, and more recently the tragedy which took Carol aka Sheridan from us.I hadn't met either in person although I had personal communication with both and we came close to meetings but nevertheless there was something special about both and I still feel much sadness when I do happen to think of them which is surprisingly often.

September 18th sees the entry into force of EU payment Accounts Directive 2015 under which it is illegal to discriminate on the grounds of residence when opening a basic current A/C, in fact you don't even need a permanent address !UK banks will no doubt be dragged kicking and screaming to compliance and may decide to be obstructive in the hope of delaying it until Brexit has been enacted (if it ever is of course) after which they can stick two fingers up at it.Anybody thinking that they might want a UK A/C might be advised to act promptly after September 18th.

It was from me but if you don't want my booking then forget it I'll spam Chancer instead [:D][:D][:D]

Definitely quieter around here in this area, cafe's which are normally full in the evenings are half empty.I so hope the Brexiteers are experiencing the pain their stupid short sightedness had brought on them, the country, and everybody.

Yea, MIA for a couple of days and now seems slower than ever, doesn't seem much point in complaining because you get the same old trite platitudes.Any site which requires you to switch browsers to make it usable is broken and not fit for purpose.

WazeYou need a data connection for real time though.Currently reporting under 10kph South of El Porthus and a complete standstill La JonqueraLooks like some have tried to bypass the AP-7 on the parallel D900/N-11 but that's at a complete standstill.

Got curtains under my kitchen worktops, OH wanted it thus and I think they are very practical, not everybody wants the same thing [:D]

Plastic beachy type flip-flops, which is what the term really means, are something else and I agree are entirely unsuitable and I would never contemplate driving in such things, nor be seen dead in them in the first place !The sort I wear are something else entirely and as I say have never caused me any problems whatsoever, and I might mention that in UK at least my typical annual mileages were usually between 2 and 3x the nominal national average which in those days stood at around 12,000 - and driving more different vehicles than I could possibly enumerate.ABF go boil your head [:P]

I've driven in Birkenstock sandals virtually exclusively for over 20 years and, I've never once had any difficulty nor had then slide off the pedals or off my feet etc. etc. , nothing nada.Forced to wear 'proper' shoes I'd be more of a risk of having an accident not less so I'll take my chances and pay the fine - then carry on regardless.
I am not a business
how do you figure that ?

I'm no lover of Adobe bloatware but experience has taught me that when it comes to interactive pdf's in France that is what they are expecting you to be using and in many cases pretty much nothing else will work completely properly.

That is not what happens to me with this document for example, it saves and reopens normally.http://www.ameli.fr/fileadmin/user_upload/formulaires/S3711.pdfAlthough I'm using Win 7 I don't believe that is anything to do with 10 but you'd need someone with 10 to prove or disprove it.Can't help then, sorry [8-)]
