  1. Irnbru:   Real Bikers don't wear knickers...........................................................[:P][:D] Twinkle:    Yes, of course, and the lower to the ground, the better.....................[:P][;-)]
  2. Sorry Dick, I missed your bit, must have been the excitement of the moment.[8-)] I promise to try not to do it again..........................
  3. Deimos "Anyway, if going through a tight gap, surely extending your right leg is not such a good idea"   I'd alter that slightly and say that going through a tight gap is not such a good idea, period. Some french guys do seem to 'do it' early, but that's to do with style (in their eyes anyway).
  4. My pleasure, mon ami......................................[kiss]
  5. Driving/ riding on the right does make it rather difficult to take your right hand off the bars (that is the throttle hand) hence the use of the right leg. Not sure if you should use it on your Mobylette though, have you ever passed anything that was moving with it ? [:D]
  6. THOSE OF YOU NOT FAMILIAR WITH JOE ARPAIO, HE IS THE MARICOPA COUNTY SHERIFF( ARIZONA ) AND HE KEEPS GETTING ELECTED OVER AND OVER AGAIN. These are some of the reasons why: Sheriff Joe Arpaio created the "tent city jail" to save Arizona from spending tens of million of dollars on another expensive prison complex. He has jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them. He banned smoking and porno magazines in the jails, and took away their weightlifting equipment and cut off all but "G" movies. He says: "they're in jail to pay a debt to society not to build muscles so they can assault innocent people when they leave." He started chain gangs to use the inmates to do free work on county and city projects and save taxpayer's money. Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn't get sued for discrimination. He took away cable TV until he found out there was a federal court order that required cable TV for jails. So he hooked up the cable TV again but only allows the Disney channel and the weather channel. When asked why the weather channel he replied: "so these morons will know how hot it's gonna be while they are working on my chain gangs." He cut off coffee because it has zero nutritional value and is therefore a waste of taxpayer money. When the inmates complained, he told them, "This isn't the Ritz/Carlton. If you don't like it, don't come back." He also bought the Newt Gingrich lecture series on US history that he pipes into the jails. When asked by a reporter if he had any lecture series by a Democrat, he replied that a democratic lecture series that actually tells the truth for a change would be welcome and that it might even explain why 95% of the inmates were in his jails in the first place. With temperatures being even hotter than usual in Phoenix (116 degrees just set a new record for June 2nd), the Associated Press reports: About 2,000 inmates living in a barbed- wire-surrounded tent encampment at the Maricopa County Jail have been given permission to strip down to their government-issued pink boxer shorts. On Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing pink boxer shorts were chatting in the tents, where temperatures reached 128 degrees. "This is hell. It feels like we live in a furnace," said Ernesto Gonzales, an inmate for 2 years with 10 more to go "It's inhumane." Joe Arpaio, who makes his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic. "Criminals should be punished for their crimes - not live in luxury until it's time for parole, only to go out and commit more crimes so they can come back in to live on taxpayers money and enjoy things many taxpayers can't afford to have for themselves."   Wednesday he told all the inmates who were complaining of the heat in the tents: "It's between 120 to 130 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents too, and they have to walk all day in the sun, wearing full battle gear and get shot at, and they have not committed any crimes, so shut your damned mouths!" This is all True.......................[8-|]
  7. IMHO that comment made me LOL.............................[:D][:D]
  8. You'll choke on those words when you read my comments on the other thread Chris, and I am NOT hairy [;-)]
  9. Having just looked at Chris' website I now find it difficult to critisise anyone with such an artistic flair, Nice Stuff.
  10. It's a secret, man thing, you know, involves spanners, stripping, cleaning, welding, painting......................[blink]
  11. We were out on a motorcycle ride-out on Monday, a run to Royan and La Rochelle. We saw three lots of Gerndarmes who reacted to us, as follows: Gerndarmes No 1.   Motorcyclists travelling in opposite direction. (Both waved as we passed) Gerndarmes No 2.   Motorcyclists parked on roundabout checking traffic. Both waved as we went past, with one giving us the 'twist the throttle' sign) Gerndarmes No 3.   Parked in a car as we went past. ( Came out and followed us for over five miles, then overtook us badly on the approach to a roundabout, and then turned off right, right across the front of us) W******!! I would add, before any comments, that we ride responsibly, and adhere to speed limits.
  12. The Americans call it 'Cabin Fever' Chris. for me the answer is to get a 'project' and a woodburner in the garage. Then ignore the "it's alright for you, you can mess around with that thing you've got in the garage" cries from SWMBO.
  13. "No, no Twinks. Bugbear is inviting Chris to go Skating with him." Actually, I was looking for more of a deep meaningful relationship[kiss]
  14. "Bugbear...will you stop being so wimpy and just take down those cute creatures and eat them please??" Now, I've been called many things in my life, but never 'wimpy'. Arrogant, opinionated, intellectual, educated, big and strong, good looking, yes, but wimpy,................never. You, my friend, are walking on very thin ice.

  16. I was going to talk to you, then someone said that you come from Norfolk, so now, I'm not sure that you'd understand me anyway, innit.
  17. Bugsy

    problem deer

We also have deer and boar in our wood and they are beautiful creatures. They take some food from our donkeys, but not enough to ever worry about, and the sight of these animals in the early morning mist is amazing. I'm not even going to comment on the "let's kill it brigade" I'm just not going there. You could try electric fencing, its reasonably cheap to buy, very economical to run and harms nothing. If you go this route I am happy to advise you on fence height, voltage, etc.
  18. No, of course not, but I do seem to have met an unusually high number of expats from those two counties..... Discuss....................................
  19. Not at all, brilliant ride to Royan and La Rochelle, 300 k and now time for a small beer. That IAMS picture is the right colour but I'm not sure what the 'S' would mean, Senior, I suppose, as in 'Old'.[blink]
  20. Not sure as to what you are referring to Mark, but you are very welcome to join us tomorrow. I am also IAM, by the way.
