  1. Thanks, that looks spot on!
  2. Ouch! A lot of the books I see that cover the NF, are dated at least 2 years ago. Can anyone recommend something that covers all the new regs? The usual on mains wiring etc, is fairly easy to find - its all the extras like Telephone, TV, Satellite, and CAT5e I need to know about. Any ideas?
  3. Hello, Does anyone know the ISBN number for the Normes Francais NF C 15 100 ? Either that, or a book that covers all the NF, including the new additions i.e. RJ45, etc. Thanks.
  4. What about air rifles - are they legal to own and use as in the UK?
  5. Not teaching anyone to suck eggs etc, etc. Motivation letter must be concise and to the point, and as previously mentioned must be handwritten. In France, I understand your CV must be no more than 1 side of A4 - very different to the rambling UK norm! Your local ANPE (Job Centre equivalent) should be helpful if you require assistance.
  6. My Dad moved to Brittany in March. I set up a draytel account for him www.draytel.org and it works very well. The plug in box cost £30, calls are 1p a min, top your credit up on line. You do need broadband for this. He has a UK local rate number, so friends and family can call, usually free as part of their BT calls. I have set up my own account, (I'm moving to Pays de la Loire v.soon.) calls between draytel accounts are free, wherever you are. As I am still in UK, I have had need to call French land lines, also just 1p a minute, probably cheaper than FT! Reduced call costs also to most mobiles. Very reliable service - recommended.
  7. http://www.bigdishsat.com/fs12_compare.php Here is the link - bottom of page, claims black PVC cable can't be used, but white can. Is this bizarre or what?
  8. Hi All, I have read somewhere that the French Fire Regulations stipulate that you cannot use black PVC satellite cable in the house. Apparently white PVC cable is OK, so is black poly-ethylene. The standard cable used for Sky etc, is black PVC, therefore apparently anyone using it has invalidated their insurance. Can anyone please enlighten me as to whether this is true or not. Cheers.
