we have recently bought a house in Basse Normandy.  We are going over from 9th - 14th Feb and need to get some furniture over but can't afford to hire a van for that length of time. Does anyone know of anyone in the South East of England who a) is going over with an empty van during those dates or b) has a van that they could hire to us at a very reasonable rate?  I know it's a long shot but we're desperate.  Any other ideas would be welcome.  Thanks

we are in the process of buying an 18c farmhouse in Basse Normandy with a tin roof.  We have just had an energy survey through which says the 'consommation en energie' is 576 kWh ep/m2.an (whatever that is!) which doesn't look good.  Can anyone advise on what we should be looking for, or questions to as the vendor.  We are going to ask them if we can see some of their bills.
