IHas anyone out ther fitted their own kitchen and used granite as worktop and are there companies that specialise in granite worktops? I will be buying my cabinets and appliances in the UK and fitting the kitchen myself but really didn.t want the laminate worktop. The wood worktop sort of appeals but it then means having a Belfast sink which I think should be placed in the garden and filled with soil and plants,so that only leaves me with granite, The area we will be in is 37 and about 50kms North of Poitiers. Hi I am a cabinet maker/french polisher so I may be of some assistance. Is the frame bare or polished wood or the gilt gesso type ? If it's gesso then you can take a plastecine mould of a good part and reproduce with plaster of paris and re-gilt. If its polished wood I,m afraid that you dont have a choice but to seek the help of a restorer. Tom

Hi all ,,,,we have been reading the mags and forums for light years and would like you all to be the first to know that after years of research soul searching got the T shirt we have returned today from Richeleiu (37) having signed the compromise de vente on a farmhouse with barns with courtyard and looking forward to returning in 6 weeks for the completion. Whatever pitfalls lie in our way we will either get over them around them or fall in face first but what the hell! Lifes too short.
