I googled the address you gave, and came up with WHO the consulate is.
Go onto www.pagesjaunes.fr, then click on pages blanches, and enter the embassy name, and town and dept 92.
Once it gives the details, click on plan.
The one it gave me was via "Mappy" which allows you to zoom in or out. There appear to be Metro statios, and an RER station within easy walking distance.
As for hotels, I've always found that an online booking at a chain in Paris, Climat, Ibis, etc is easy and the standard is reliable. Price is OK too. I've been in three different ones, and all were within a spit of the metro. You can eat out cheap in Paris, go to Boulevard St Michel and walk away from the Seine for a HUGE choice of food and prices.
I DID note that the address you want is close to the Bois de Boulogne. To be avoided after dark[;-)]

Agree with the above. Chatelet les halles is one of those stations where, by the time you get from one line to another, you've just about walked as far as your short journey.[:(]

Ho ho, aren't we having fun here?
Yes I inadvertantly signed off, in a drunken stupour, as "Alcazar", having been looking at one of his very interesting and informative, and well thought out posts earlier[:P]
I've decided to edit it to stop anyone else getting the WRONG idea[:D]
Speeding? Know nothing about that, and wouldn't DREAM of arguing about it. Speed kills, don't you know?[:P]

Is insurance and tax for a French registered car, rhd, LESS than the UK then?
What would insurance be on say, a group 13 car, (Xantia)
I know we live in "Rip-off Britain", but am unaware of costs for those things in France, not being there full-time, yet.

Why don't you stop giving me advice? I said I didn't recognise any irony in a statement, not that I don't recognise it in general. I do. Many different sorts. Do you know how many varieties of irony there are? I won't patronise you by going through them.
Pack in the patronising of me, please.

Spongebob, you seem to be really interested in Alcazar.
Quite a few of your posts refer to him. In fact you even signed off using his name, rather than 'Spongebob' as you usually do.
Is there anything you want to tell us about this 'special relationship'?

Nope, he's just a good mate, and I see quite a bit of him. Best not to question the forum running though as posted above. Back to a few girly posts, eh?[:P]

Well it was SUPPOSED to start from Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, etc, but the government let Eurostar renege on their promises once they had some public funding.
After all, what does ANYWHERE that's not London, or the South East matter?

I watched it.
France were very, very unlucky to not be allowed their first four goals. Not their fault they were in the wrong spot at the wrong time.
Scotland seemed to need a steadying hand every few minutes the way they held on to the French side. Then, all of a sudden, their elbows would jerk up into the French sides faces and then their legs would go from under them and accidentally trip the French side up.
Then, because of their bad memories, they couldn't explain their actions to the ref. (and wasn't HE cute???)
Scotland must have some maladie or other. Mad Footballer's Disease?

A Polish man moved to the USA and married an American girl.
His English was far from perfect, they got along very well until one day he rushed into a lawyer's office and asked him if he could arrange a divorce for him. The lawyer said that getting a divorce would depend on the circumstances, and asked him the following questions:
Have you any grounds? Yes, an acre and half and nice little home.
No, I mean what is the foundation of this case? It made of Concrete.
I don't think you understand. Does either of you have a real grudge?
No, we have carport, and not need one.
I mean. What are your relations like? All my relations still in Poland.
Is there any infidelity in your marriage? We have hi-fidelity stereo and good DVD player.
Does your wife beat you up? No, I always up before her.
Is your wife a nagger? No, she white.(Sorry about the racism)
Why do you want this divorce? She going to kill me.
What makes you think that? I got proof.
What kind of proof? She going to poison me. She buy a bottle at Drugstore
and put on shelf in bathroom. I can read, and it say: "Polish Remover"Spongebob

Ten years ago, I'd have supported whichever UK country played , AND Eire too.
Now, I won't support the Jocks, after many of their supporters' disgraceful attitude towards England in last year's World Cup[:(]

Just had a quick look for you on www.voyages-sncf.com, AFTER I verified with my atlas exactly where Epernay was.
Firstly, I can't see the point in going to Epernay. It's ESE of Paris, so not on any direct route to Nevers OR Bourges.
As I thought, the webite gave Eurostar to Paris Gare Du Nord, a trip across Paris to Gare De Lyon, then a short hop to Nevers or Bourges, with a cost of around €250 return per person.

Tried WD40, or it's French equivalent?
Spray the gunge, spread the oil with a finger, leave for about 15 minutes, wipe off with paper towel, wash with soapy water if necessary.
WD40 even removes that AWFUL label glue that nothing else seems to[;-)]

Ask around, or look on www.pagesjaunes.fr for a local scierie, (sawmill).
Either go and see the boss there, or ask him to come and visit, to give you advice.
It's what we did, and the guy at ours is now a good friend too. Free advice and good service.
I have 75 sq m of chestnut flooring waiting fitting............now where was that advert for a secondhand flooring nailer? I already have the clamps...........

You could try pressing the boot lid shut VERY hard, while pulling/pushing/manipulating the piece of cloth out.
Failing that, do you have RAC type cover?
Failing THAT a bodyshop, or dealership will open it........for a price.

Hi, when we bought our house, the seller told us all about the new fosse septique he'd fitted. It lived in one of the barns.
After a couple of years and having decided to build outwards into said barn, we investigated it a bit more carefully. It consisted of a 1000 litre catchment tank, and a concrete cast spiral gravel filter. Only toilet waste went into it, the grey water emptied into the local hedge bottom.OK for one old lady, but hopeless for a family, or a couple and friends.
It did tend to smell a bit in hot weather too.
We had a new Tous Eaux one fitted and filled in the old one.
Thanks, can you recommend any better places to live, what about near Limoges?
Dunno, really, I've only ever lived here in the North Midlands and southern Haute Vienne.
Unfortunately, wherever you live, if it's mild weather, you'll get flies. I killed two last night at a pubquiz near here, and we are in October[:(]
Spongebob.
PS: I'd LIKE to live in the Vaucluse near Isle sur la Sorgue, but I met someone on holiday last year who lived there, a French lady. She didn't recommend it on the grounds of:
Tourists in the tourist season,[Www]
Too hot in summer[8-)]
Inflated prices.[:(]
You can't please everyone, eh?

Warm and wettish summer, mild Autumn so far...........flies![+o(]
There are still a few around here in the UK too.[:(]
Of course, it'll also depend on where.......were you anywherer near a farm, at all? Our property has a fair few, including some little ******s that bit like someone pricking you with a red hot needle, and we neighbour a beef farm.

Oh, and why buy in Dordogneshire? There are FAR nicer places[;-)]
