  1. I tried your link - filled in the information as requested - and all I got was an advert from HiFX
  2. Hi Jon It may be helpful to explain why you want the photographs. From your mention of “photos of rooms for a website” I am guessing that you want advertise the hire of rooms or a gite or perhaps the sale of a property. If this is the case, have you considered using a virtual tour. I made one to sell our house in UK and sold it to someone from Kenya! To illustrate what I mean here is a link to one of many examples to be found on the ‘net:-    virtual tour example If I have the wrong end of the stick perhaps a clarification of your requirements would be useful.
  3. You may find this site interesting second hand cars in france It is used by employees of Citroen to sell cars which they are allowed to buy at a substantial discount at (I think) 6 month intervals. Anyway whatever the story I bought a 6 month old car in mint condition for about 2/3 rds list price.
  4. The point of my original post was to encourage people who are concerned by changes in health care.to e-mail Bequi Sheehan at [email protected] to try and publicise the problems caused. Powerdesal, I have not been to Sharja since 1969. There was not much there then but I bet you have internet connections now. You can listen in, should you wish to, at bbc.co.uk. Personally I think life is too short for that but a lot of influential people do listen to the program.
  5. There is an opportunity here to publicise our case. I have made my suggestion to the Asst Producer. Bearing in mind the thread this topic is posted on,  those of you who want to influence decision making,  could have the subject aired on radio, live from France  ( for what thats worth )
  6. The Jeremy Vine Show will be broadcasting live from Boulangerie Paul, Hôtel de ville, 70 rue de Rivoli on Thursday 15th November. The assistant producer would be interested in hearing  if there are any burning local or national issues in France that you think they could cover on the15th November. She is Bequi Sheehan and her e-mail is [email protected] Can anyone think of any burning issues? Mik Edit - Post title edited by mod - it was too long !
  7. I use a simple technique to find the best location and (more importantly) time for finding mushrooms. Drive around the country side looking for two or three cars parked in out of the way places near woods. Check that they do not have dog trailers attached because, as has already been pointed out, it is the hunting season. Our neighbour will only go looking 10 days after a day with 5cm of rainfall. A good source of information is  http://www.rogersmushrooms.com/   Good luck
  8. I make my own bacon and sausages. It is surprisingly easy and you know exactly what has gone in to making them. There is plenty of info on the web. Also, when you visit friends, half a dozen old fashioned bangers or rashers are more warmly received than a bottle of wine.
  9. I agree the 8 CD set is good. The two CD language builder is more useful. The 4 CD advanced set is best and does cover tenses. EBay is a good source
  10. If you go to www.degroupnews.com you can type in your telephone number and find out where your local exchange is and if it is ADSL enabled. If it is not, and you leave an e-mail address, they will tell you when a change is planned to take place. Our dial up service is the digital equivalent of a cleft stick but we have just heard from degroup news that ADSL arrives next Jan. Not holding my breath though!
  11. I totally agree with you. If you make 1.5 minute calls to mobiles in UK then One Roam is not the best. It's horses for courses. I just leave my mobile phone in the car for emergency use only. Most of my friends and family in UK use 18866.com so calls via Estonia are not too expensive. It occurs to me that it would be very useful for people with holiday homes because you do not lose your call credit after a period of time. If I remember correctly, if I did not use my old pay as you go Orange SIM for a period of six months, the number was discontinued as well. Mik
  12. I use the service at www.oneroam.co.uk You buy a pay as you go SIM which is posted to you from UK and are charged 27 ppm from France to UK and it costs nothing to receive calls from overseas. Importantly for me the payments do not expire after a few months as I use my mobile very infrequently . Its worth checking out their web site Mik
  13. Some of us still remember what to do ... the only problem is remembering why?
  14. My elderly neighbour insists that you will find Cepes 10 days after 15mm of rain has fallen and that it is best to look under oak trees. Yes she does have a rain gauge. Last month, despite recently leaving hospital having had a blood clot removed from her leg, she arrived in our yard at high speed doing a handbrake turn in an old van nearly as old as her. She said she must be in her coffin before giving up mushrooming. Anyway, the result was two days of Cepes and since then nothing - not much rain either.
