1. He had 10 seances, to treat remaining cancer cells after they had removed a brain tumour,( the chemo is for the primary,) the effects didn't show till he had finished the treatment but apparently the effects from radiotherapy can take a while to manifest themselves. Deep joy. Many thanks for your good wishes, he is bearing up well.
2. Many thanks, he had the dose on wednesday and is now feeling rough, it doesn't help that he is also coping with side effects of the radiotherapy which have now kicked in, a sunburn effect on his skin which I'm trying to ease with E45 cream. Hope he picks up like last time!
3. Looking forward to the cooler weather, (!!!!) I was wondering how the different electric radiators perform, I have seen oil filled ones 2000 W and the warm air ones 1200 W, is there any way of comparing efficiency/running costs? I notice the oil filled ones are much more expensive initially, but wouldn't mind that if it meant they were better/more economical to run. Has anyone had some experience of both types?
4. Just a quick question for NormanH, OH had his chemo on a wednesday, poorly by friday, but much better by the following wednesday and for the two weeks since then. Assuming they keep to the same dosage, ( scan due after every second dose ) is the 'recovery' likely to be the same? Or does it have a cumulative effect and get worse each time, and take longer to recover? Many thanks for any help!
5. Thanks for all the suggestions, luckily at the moment he is coping with the nausea which isn't too bad, the secondary cancer, which is the one they removed, was in the brain mogs, so they are treating that with radiotherapy, the chemo is for the primary cancer.
6. Just bear in mind if you use english electronic devices, get the ones you use in each room. I bought the ones that are supposed to work one on each floor by sending pulses through the ring main. Didn't realise France doesn't use ring mains! D'oh!!

The others I found quite good as long as the room isn't too cluttered, they need a clear 'view' of the room. We don't have a problem now as we are full time and have two cats, haven't seen one since they moved in!!
7. Thanks for that cooperlola, he had the chemo at the same time they fitted the stent so they haven't had to access it again yet, will ask the nurse if it's possible to have a patch for next time. (22nd August) They did mention about the white blood cells NormanH so we have declared purdah for a while!!
8.
I hope every thing goes well. There are a number of us who have had chemo, and if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask or send a pm.

He had his first session of chemo on Wednesday, and fatigue seems to have hit him like a sledgehammer today. He has tablets for the sickness but is there anything he can do about the fatigue? Having been very active he is finding this very difficult to cope with.
9. I fitted an IKEA kitchen for my sister that was a dream to put together, and it still looks good today 12 years later, but she does look after her stuff well. By and large I found their stuff to be excellent, wardrobes etc, My neighbours have just bought a kitchen from Brico depot, really cheap, and are very happy with it. They have jazzed it up with IKEA handles as the ones that come with it are pretty dull!
10. Ditto, have seen them for sale in Bricomarche, and Conforama. But have never got on with them. They didn't deliver the smooth lines as promised!! Or is it a case of a bad work(wo)man always blaming their tools???????
11. He's having the stent fitted on the 1st August and this is for folic acid to be taken on the 31st 1st and 2nd?? along with some steroids. He has had an op to remove a tumour which has proved to be a secondary cancer, he has radiotherapy booked for that and the chemo which he is having the stent fitted for is for the primary tumour which they have now found.
12. Many thanks NormanH and mogs no doubt there will be many more questions!! Just couldn't understand why they had given me 3 months supply when he's only supposed to take them for 3 days! Of course he might need another dose later.

Definitely must be done, they seem confident of a good result!!!!
13. Does anyone know what QSP on a french prescription stands for?

As in " 1 cp par jour - QSP 3 mois" these are on tablets my other half has to take before during and after (total 3 days) having a stent fitted to administer chemo. Just thought it would save me a trip back to the pharmacie?
14. Wouldn't recommend it! We tried to do this with our 8 pet ducks from UK, you need to get export forms from DEFRA, make sure they give you the right ones[:(] They will also supply you on request with a list of registered vets who can do the examination, not anyone will do they have to be certified (H1 or some such thing from memory) the nearest one to us was an hour and a half away[:(] and we lived in Nottingham, not the back of beyond! We then had to take all 8 to the vets to have blood taken, ever tried to take a blood sample from a duck?[:-))] and to provide 8 poo samples, one from each duck[+o(] he then "ringed" each duck so they could be identified, despite them being all different[8-)] oh and you have to supply the rings. They sent off the results and we were told they look for a certain strain of salmonella , if ANY of the birds in the flock have it they will not sign the export certificate. The results took ages to come back despite DEFRA saying you only need to do this a month in advance, and as I remember you can't do it much earlier, the timescales are very rigid, the week before we moved I was phoning every day to the vet and DEFRA begging for results we finally got them back 2 failed so he wouldn't sign the certificate[:'(] if he had done so the last requirement was that in the 24 hours before you emigrate you have to take them back to the same vet so he can confirm that the ducks that he examined are those that are travelling. All in all a heartbreaking experience as we were left trying to find homes for our gorgeous little ducks just days before we travelled[:(] The vet felt so sorry for us as all we had been doing was trying to do it the correct way that he said he would only pass on half the charge from the laboratory that did the tests, HALF the charge still set me back £425[:-))][:-))] Seriously considered the cardboard box in the boot idea, but since we were travelling with 2 dogs and 2 cats as well, feared having the whole lot put down if we got caught!!!

15. Thanks for the helpful replies, and for your concern Patf, not going so well at the moment but he's in the best place. Just to be certain I will ring the company but will have to ait till tomorrow as they as closed Monday!!
16. I have some friends due to visit, unfortunately my husband has been taken seriously ill and will be in hospital for at least a fortnight possibly longer, so during their visit they would be left to their own devices, they are good friends so not a problem. I have been told that as they are mature and have more than 10 years driving experience they can drive my french registered car on my insurance but that they would be liable for any damage they caused in event of an accident. Does anyone have any experience that might save me a trip to the insurers at a already very hectic time?
17.
Wonder how the cheap units and their findings will stand up in a court when you think how unreliable they most probably are and being stored in very hot cars for months on end!!
The point is the results from the cheap units won't be used in court, it will just give them an indication of whether they need to use their equipment to do a more reliable test, (which they then have to sterilize afterwards) or if you are well under the limit, and therefore don't need further testing.
