Many thanks to all of you who've replied. Lizfjr, that sounds like fantastic service, where did you buy it?    

I need to buy a new cooker for our 'maison secondaire' as the one we inherited when we bought the house has just died. We are not on mains gas, and I do not want a duel fuel cooker as it will be in a temporary location until the barn is converted into a kitchen so I don't want to faff around putting in additional electrics in a temp location, so it must be just solely run on LPG. My queries are - 1.   Is it better to buy the cooker in UK or France? 2.   What Gas bottle is best to run it on? There seems to be many different ones available but whats the difference between them, and whats the best one for a very occasional user? Look forward to some advice and guidance! Thanks SueP  [:D]

Can anyone recommend some plants to put in a large kitchen garden (approx 30' x 15') so I don't have to spend all my holidays weeding? We have a holiday home in south Vienne (86), which at the moment we visit about 4 times a year. The kitchen garden already has 3 vines in it and a cherry tree which are very productive but were already well established when we bought it. I've tried digging over the soil and covering it when we leave, which cuts down the weeds, but I'd really like to grow something that doesn't require too much /any TLC, and will discourage the weeds even more! Alternatively, does anyone living in south Vienne want to rent an allotment? SueP

We'd like to put underfloor heating in the barn we are converting into a house. The solid concrete floors are already down (they were there when we bought it), and we've already put in an oil fired boiler to heat the water for the system. We'd like to know - Best products to buy? Where to buy, UK or France? Is it a DIY job or should it be professionally fitted, and if so any recommendations for installation companies in south of Vienne department (86), or Deux-Sevres (79), or north Charente (16). Does anyone have any hints, tips or advice - please !  :) SueP
