  1. I've just read on the Expatica site in their driving in France section that for foreign cars in France a sticker is required even if the number plate indicates the origin of the car.      I'm sure I've read several times that a sticker is not required with the Euro plate and  indeed that it was advisable not to have a sticker as it made it more difficult for criminals to spot a moving foreign car.     Any advice? 2. I have used Transmanche for two return trips in the last two months and was perfectly satisfied.      On one return there was a delay of departure for one and a half hours awaiting better weather but when we sailed there was no problem.       I live 35 mins away from Newhaven and it is so much easier to drive there than to Dover/Folkestone ( especially coming home ) and makes a good start to Paris or the South West.   The new boat is obviously far superior but a meal a snooze a read etc and only 35 mins to drive when we dock - can't grumble. 3. Thank you - should have thought of that myself.     BTW very impressed by your informative web site.
  4. Can anyone advise me with regard to returning traffic around PARIS if the final holiday weekend will be considered to be Aug 26/27 or SEP 2/3? JAKE
  5. I am hoping to christen my badge next week but behind my Volvo rear view mirror there is an area of mesh where I would like to fix the holder - if I place it further to the left it does impair the passenger seat view albeit high up - do you know if the mesh area will affect the use of the unit - I would prefer to fix it before I leave.       I note your advice about holding it and may have to resort to that.       I would hate to hold things up with a GB plate in the Liber-t lane of all places. 6. Hello Suze - my very first "post" gets your helpful advice and even better the wonderful photos of your garden - you certainly have the greenest of fingers and great vision.         Thank you - JAKE
  7. I've only just "joined" and have found the forum very informative.    I expect by now you have info regarding Blue badges in France but if not look at the Department of Transport website "using the Blue badge in Europe".  Jake
  8. I would like to park my car for three or four nights in the outskirts of Paris and travel in to the centre by RER.       Can anyone give me general advice about safe areas etc. JAKE
